About Me
CURRENT MISSION
active adventuring through the world
ABOUT ME
In the past two years, I've become obsessed with mountain adventures like trail running, scrambling, and backcountry skiing, and now I spend almost all of my free hours doing wilderness adventures! Traveling has taken the form of active adventures in amazing areas like running the rim to rim to rim in Grand Canyon, running across sand dunes, steppe, and the Gobi Desert in Mongolia, and exploring the US and Canadian Cascades, not to mention exploring my own backyard: Squamish and Whistler, every weekend! I've discovered that it's the most fulfilling way of traveling around and seeing the world, to be interacting with its most beautiful places and the awesome people one tends to discover there! Although I love being active in nature, I also really enjoy relaxing with a good coffee or beer ANYTIME!
This next year, I'm thinking about planning a Norwegian adventure, some sort of traverse involving kayaking and running. :)
I would love to make friends who have similar passions, who would also love to active adventure, anywhere in the world!
The long version:
I developed a travel bug at a young age, when my family and I were fortunate to live in Thailand for two years for parents' work. Since then, I have vagabonded as much as possible-- I have been able to live in Venezuela and Belgium, and I've visited North Korea, Mongolia, all over Western Europe and the Middle East. I speak Spanish and English, although my Spanish is beginning to suck.
PHILOSOPHY
the journey is where it's at. the destination is just there to create a journey!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm an avid surfer.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've surfed all over the world, with amazing people from San Francisco to the West Bank, to Berlin! My favourite experience so far was couchsurfing for the Berlin Marathon in 2012.
Interests
Right now I am REALLY into mountain and backcountry exploration-- ultra running, hiking/scrambling, backcountry skiing. I am also really into opposite modes of complete relaxation, things like coffee making and tasting, beer making and tasting, and yoga. I love reading, writing, and have a fetish for soviet history. Why, I don't know!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Running sand dunes in Mongolia. They are surprisingly just like ski hills!
Sharing a 2-bedroom with 6 people!! ... August 2009, when my mom came to visit in the city.... good times! Although stuffy I still think the saying rang true, the more the merrier!
Teach, Learn, Share
teach: ultra running, learning about Vancouver or Canada, snowshoe running.
learn: rock-climbing! I'm currently a pussy on rock! Any advice is encouraged :)
