Overview
About Me
** We are bicycle touring from June 2019- November 2019 so we won't be able to host for a few months.**
CURRENT MISSION
We're on a quest to cycle every country on the planet.
ABOUT ME
We are passionate about travel!
Our current project is a quest to cycle every country on the planet.
So far we've pedaled through 116 countries on six continents.
We like being outside--cycling, hiking and taking photos. We're not really city people, we feel happiest in wide-open spaces.
Amaya grew up in Montana, is really into photography and likes going for long walks. She also loves dogs, so if you have a pet that needs walking, just ask!
Eric likes learning languages and spends a lot of time planning our onward travel and keeping the bikes tuned up.
We are both podcast addicts and love watching films from all around the world.
Since we began our world cycle tour in 2006, we've met many amazing people who have changed and influenced us in unexpected ways.
We enjoy meeting ALL types of people--particularly those who are passionate about what they do.
Since we spend so much time on the road, constantly being exposed to a new and changing world, we tend to be a semi- recluses once we find a place to stop.
We'll probably be very happy to stay inside for a few days and have some quiet time.
We do our best to be low-maintenance guests! We've got all our camping gear and would be glad to pitch our tent in the backyard.
While we're not super awesome, incredibly amazing cooks, we enjoy cooking and would be glad to prepare a meal for you and your family.
IMPORTANT: Since we're traveling by bicycle it is difficult for us to give an exact date or time of arrival.
Sometimes difficult terrain or bad weather means we'll arrive later than we thought. Sometimes we're just plain tired and need a rest.
We do our best to keep hosts apprised of our arrival date via email and always inform hosts if we will not be able to show up as planned.
Bicycle touring involves changes and things do come up at the last minute. If you prefer to host people who can give more definite arrival information and won't make last minute changes, we understand.
If you can give us your exact address, it will be a big help. We have a GPS and are pretty good at navigating. It's much easier for us to have the address in advance rather than just calling when we arrive at your place.
Thanks!
PHILOSOPHY
That's a tough one. Basically to live without regrets and try to leave something positive in our tracks.

Music, Movies, and Books
We love watching independent films from all around the world and are big fans of Film Movement. We're not really into music, but Amaya listens to some Indie Rock while she rides (Modest Mouse, Alabama Shakes, Beirut, Lucius,).
Podcasts are really our thing--love the stuff from Gimlet, Radiotopia, NPR and the BBC.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Camped under the stars in the Sahara Desert, cycled up high Himalayan passes and met thousands of friendly people on all six continents.
Teach, Learn, Share
Eric might be able to give you a few tips on tuning up your bike and Amaya could give you a hand at creating a web site (if you're a beginner that is).
We'd love to do some yoga with fellow couchsurfers, we haven't done much in the past year and are in need of some inspiration.
Amaya likes talking about photography, podcasts and films.
What I Can Share with Hosts
We'd be glad to share some films (we've got lots of independent film from around the world) and help out with the cooking. Also would be glad to offer travel advice and tips on the best podcasts to listen to.
