CURRENT MISSION
To see as much of God's beautiful Earth that these new eyes can possibly be laid upon!
ABOUT ME
I think I was born with the travel bug. My dad was a truck driver here in the states, and I used to climb up in his big rig and navigate America with him. I'd say I started to go with him at the age of 3, and I've been on a quest to see the world ever since.
I was in a bad motorcycle addident in May of 2008. It was the single worse & greatest moment of my life. I broke 5 bones in my lumbar spine, but walked out of the hospital the next day. Proof of miracles. Up until that point I'd been living life with my eyes covered, up on a pedistal I'd placed myself on. I was knocked off that column and humbled in one slip on a patch of leaves. And I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
Ever since that moment in time, I take the time to watch the sunsets. To see the splendor in the color purple. To bask in the sound of laughter. To sip the wine a little slower and listen to the words of the old man. I know there is more to life than the latest gigantic sunglass trend or saving enough money to drive a Lamborghini. I am happy just being me, and I'd like to spend some time with other people who are happy just being them. :-)
I'm usually up for anything, always been spontaneous and ready to go at the drop of a hat. My friends are all envious of this trait I was so naturally given. Some people collect beanie babies, other's collect spoons. I collect memories! I want to be able to look back on my life when I'm telling stories to my grandchildren, and I'd like them to say, "Wow. My granny was a cool lady!"
PHILOSOPHY
Live life to the fullest, and stop to smell the flowers along the way. :-)
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm new to the couch surfer network, but I have been letting folks surf my couch for years! I have made friends from all over in my travels and I'm always staying on a couch or vice versa. I've open my home to friends from church numerous times and I just like hosting. I'm a natural at it!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I haven't had any couch surfing experiences, YET! I'm trying to get to Panama right now. Lets see how it goes!
Centres d'intérêt
I love sailing, I've raced 2 marathons (after breaking my back!) with my best time being 4:19:27.
I like wildlife. Animals, sunsets, beaches, hiking, dancing, interacting with locals. A stay at an all inclusive sounds nice, but not my cup of tea!

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
I like to read all kinds of books, recently finish 'The Shack.' It changed my outlook on life. I also read a lot of textbooks, how to books, and I read many a lot of cook books. I'm always interested in learning new recipies and trying new things.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Spent 6 weeks studying oceanography in Hawai'i at Hawai'i Pacific University; the trip included a solid 10 day trek around 5 islands onboard a 134' tall ship research vessel. (& I got a scholarship to pay for it!)

A pretty good tour of Detroit. There is much I do not know, but company to explore is always fun!
