I just moved back to Seattle after a year in Milan, Italy. I am missing the cheap and easy travel of Europe and am already planning my next adventure! I love exploring cities and nature alike. I'm a people watcher and story swapper. I'm really wanting to get to the Lapland in November and hoping to find a warm couch to crash on!

I love meeting new people and meeting up with couchsurfers. Currently in an apartment too small to host surfers, but hoping to couchsurf on my next trip and meet locals!

I've somehow never hosted or couchsurfed, but looking forward to it! I have a couple friends who use it and love it.

Interests

I like a solid balance of adventure/high-energy activities and more home-body activities. I have a knack for finding free events with great people. I am equally happy curling up on the couch or at a rooftop dance party, depending on the night. My happy places are outdoor markets and versatile spaces, like bookstores that are also coffee shops/art galleries/performance venues.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have met and interviewed both traffickers and local police in Rio de Janeiro when reporting on the pacification of Rio de Janeiro's favelas just before the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympics.

I teach English on italki.com to students all over the world. I'm happy to exchange English practice for a couch to crash on :) I'm not a great chef but am happy to help out with food-stuffs and what needs doing.
