About Me

CURRENT MISSION

explore inwardly and outwardly globally 'n domestically!

ABOUT ME

Hola, me llamo Janie. I consider myself fun/kind/polite/respectful and I love experiencing new things!

Travel for me is about 50% about getting to meet new people (of quality & substance) and the remaining half is mostly about what I get to see and finding some delicious food along the way :)

I look forward to using Couchsurfing as a means to meeting new friends

PHILOSOPHY

"Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat." - T. Roosevelt

Music, Movies, and Books

With the goal of increasing my fluency in Spanish, I've downloaded 10+ Latino/Spanish music, with the idea of memorizing all of 'em :-).. of course I'm hooked on the Bailando song by Enrique Iglesias, as well as Travesuras by Nicky Jam.. Other than that, as I've always loved outdoor music festivals, EDM aka Electronic Dance Music has been one of my top favorites for over a decade. If you peer into my iPod, it seriously has various genres, like a pretty rainbow. :)
Books.. hmm.. just finished reading the following three: Fountainhead, Bared to You.. and now reading Atlas Shrugged

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The one that comes to my mind right now.. Swimming with Whale Sharks!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can definitely teach you some good basic Spanish, which can be extraordinarily helpful in visiting MANY Spanish speaking countries... and also having backpacked extensively alone, with close to a decade of experience, I can share some expert travel tips. Or we can trade. :-)
