À propos de moi
CURRENT MISSION
I'm trying to convince my days that they should last a few more hours, but it hasn't worked so far :(. Also I really want to travel more. I haven't been able to travel a lot lately because live kept me too busy, so I want to get back into it and meet a lot more people through Couchsurfing!
ABOUT ME
Hi! I am Wouter, a journalist from The Netherlands and I'm 22 years old. I consider myself to be an enthusiastic young person with a broad interest and an open mind. I like meeting people and I'm always looking for new experiences, tastes and stories.
I live in Rotterdam with my boyfriend Rogier and our cat Suus.
I've been involved with LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trangender) activism and volunteered as editor in chief for an LGBT youth magazine called Expreszo. I'd love to meet other LGBT couch surfers.
I love travelling and exploring the world, especially places that are somewhat unspoiled from mass tourism, although I would also love to explore cities (and museums) that are more well known. I try to stay positive and to appreciate the good, even in a bad situation. At worst, it'll be a lesson learned!
I'd love to meet you over a beer or a cup of coffee, and to hear your stories. Bonus points if you can cook: let's cook together sometime!
PHILOSOPHY
I try to stay open minded and curious. I love to hear people's stories and experiences, especially from travel, even if they do tend to make me a bit jealous. I love experiencing new things, places, foods and people!
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Sadly I can't really host but I would love to meet some travellers. We could cook together, go out for drinks or wander about the city. Anything goes really! I have travelled using CouchSurfing in the past and enjoyed that a lot.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've found out travelling is so much more fun if you're able to meet locals. It helps you experience a place more fully and gives you the chance to see and know things you otherwise wouldn't have. But most importantly, it's just nice to have someone to hang out and chat with.
I've met some wonderful people through CouchSurfing: some guys from California who my sister hosted at our parents' house for instance. Or the great people who hosted me and my sister in the UK: one of them gave up his bed for us, the other introduced me to proper Bristol Cider (after threatening to kick me out when I mentioned 'strongbow'). All in all with just a bit of couchsurfing I've already gained experiences that will last a lifetime. I've travelled around the UK on my own, couchsurfing in London and Manchester (though not through this website), and it made my trip a lot better.
Centres d'intérêt
I like exploring the beautiful things in a new city, like architecture, museums and the natural beauty. But I can also be very content having a drink on a square or beach, or just lying in the park with a book.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
I'd love to discuss anything from science and technology to art and politics. I hope to learn about other cultures, religions, customs. I like hearing peoples' stories. Also I am a great source of animal trivia.
Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes
I'm a respectful guest and will try not to be in your way. I think it's obvious a guest should help around where they can. If you host me, I'd love to buy or make you dinner or take you out for a drink so we can get to know each other better..
