ABOUT ME

I recently moved back to my hometown of Lexington with my lovely wife Addie. I traveled and couch surfed a lot, years ago, and we would love to host some people if we can. Unfortunately we are very busy these days, but we might be able to fit you in.

We often go rock climbing, mountain biking, and hiking, but we're up for just about anything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Mostly just surfed while I was travelling the world, but I did host a few people when I had an apartment in Thailand.

Hoping to host some people now that I have a house of my own, but it's a busy year for us so it just depends on when you're coming.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Every couch surfer I've stayed with has been awesome. It's such a wonderful concept and great way to meet different people. My travels would have been much less enjoyable had I not met all the awesome couch surfers that I stayed with.

Interests

Rock climbing, cycling, trekking, photography, 3d animation, good beer.

I love learning to do new things, especially things most people don't do like slacklining, juggling, origami, walking on stilts, anything I have the opportunity to try. I've just never understood why people are afraid to try new things.

Music, Movies, and Books

Wow, there are way too many to list. I love reading, mainly fiction, but I'll pick up any book that looks good. A couple favorites are Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, The Dark Tower, Mistborn.

As far as movies... anything by Pixar, Once, Edward Scissorhands, Austin Powers, A Night at the Roxbury, Donnie Darko, Primer...

I know everyone says this about music, but I really like a little of everything. Some favorites are The Decemberists, Death Cab for Cutie, The Postal Service, Brooke Waggoner, BT, The Republic Tigers, E.S. Posthumus, The "Once" Soundtrack, Magnet, Neko Case, Snow Patrol, The Changes, Ms. John Soda...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are too many to pick just one. A few examples... camping alone next to a pristine lake in Argentina while watching the sun set behind Mt. Fitz Roy, getting lost in the clouds while climbing a volcano in New Zealand, surfing an 8 foot wave in Australia, having tea with Vietnamese farmers in the middle of the mountains, getting caught in a thunderstorm on a mountain in Norway...
