Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I joined when I took my first trip to Ireland. I've also surfed in Iceland. Those experiences inspired me to return the good karma and become a host.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Before the couchsurfing site came along, I was crashing on a lot of couches. The Green Tortoise Bus hippies were fun to travel with when I lived on the west coast of the USA...youth hostels everywhere rock...only visiting places where I've had friends has been handy...and, of course, meeting new friends and then being invited to stay with them has been great. Through CS, I've couchsurfed, I've hosted, and I plan to host and surf some more in the future.

Music, Movies, and Books
I read A LOT, love art house films, and many kinds of music. I often use books, films, and music as an entry point, or a "way in" to a culture before I take off on a travelling destination.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My favorite place on the planet is Big Sur, California...I have seen much of the United States, Canada, England, Ireland, The Netherlands, Iceland, France, Germany, Italy, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador...I would say that trekking the Inca Trail on Machu Picchu for four days and being in the presence of the strange and beautiful animals of the Galapagos Islands have been highlights in my life...
Teach, Learn, Share
Kindness is the best practice there is. There is a shortage of kindness in the world, and I see it as our collective mission to rectify that. Besides that, I can talk to you about my theater and writing experiences (I'll tell you who my favorite writers are, and you can tell me yours), my travel adventures, we can cook meals together, I can show you how to knit a scarf, and teach you a few old-time tunes on my banjo!
Countries I’ve Visited
Canada, Ecuador, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Peru, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State, Virgin Islands, U.S.
Countries I’ve Lived In
