About Me

Perpetual edification seems like a worthy goal.

I like efficiency. Like doing more with less. Yeah. Let's do it all with nothing but each other. Cause it wouldn't mean much to go it alone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love this network. I have so far found it to be one of the best ways to network and meet like minded people. I put the actual surfing aspect to good use while backpacking in Europe. Every experience was entirely unique and rewarding. But possibly my favorite part is getting to share my home and local community with fun, interesting new people from foreign lands.

I've found the CS network to be a truly unparalleled method for meeting people, seeing places, and learning new ways to enjoy life.

Interests

I mostly want to learn. Formal school didn't teach me nearly enough about the things I actually care about. I'm still realizing that that list goes on and on. That's a lot of what I get out of traveling and meeting people- I learn about myself and other people and how we relate and then I scratch the surface of understanding how the world works.

I really like to write. I keep a few journals and have big ideas for writing projects. I haven't done much worth sharing yet, but that's certainly one of my long term priorities.

I'm very interested in music. I love to listen to it, try to make my own, and watch other people make it. Something that I wasn't exposed to much as a kid, I've been trying to become more musical in recent years. Someday I'd love to call myself a musician. I think the way music can change people's minds gives musicians an awesome power which I'd love to have someday.

I love bikes! If we get together let's ride around on some bikes. Must be one of the most fun ways to see a place- old or new. Bicycles I mean, but motor bikes are probably fun too.

I'm also very interested in food. All kinds of foods. Growing it, cooking it, eating it, watching/helping other people cook and eat it. I feel like it has a unique ability, like music, to bring people together and give them something to connect on and enjoy together.

Oh, duh! I make movies! That's like my favorite thing to do but I never really do it much any more. So if you have an idea, maybe we can make something out of it. We should definitely try, at the very least. Likely the result will be awesome.

Music, Movies, and Books

All of the above.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Love.

Teach, Learn, Share

There really aren't many things I feel experienced in enough to teach. I can juggle- I'd teach you that. I know a few hacky sack moves and a few guitar chords. We can at least start there. I taught swim lessons for a long time, but that was mostly to kids. But if you'd like to learn how to swim I can teach you that. I make movies. That's one of my passions. I could talk about that for weeks. Not sure how much I could "teach" though, if teaching is telling.

I would love to learn any kind of musical skill. Cooking is always nice to learn. And also I really really wanna be able to break dance, but I think I mostly lack the upper body strength.

I'm sure we can find something to share with each other- if nothing else I'd always appreciate your time and be willing to share mine with you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like to leave places cleaner than I found them. I genuinely make an effort to be a very thoughtful and low-impact guest.
