About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to get superior knowledge in renewable energy engineering and rescue the world!

ABOUT ME

I heard a lot about couch surfing before and the good experiences others made.
I wrote my Bachelor Thesis at the University of Auckland in 2011. I study Renewable Energy Engineering so I am a math, physics and chemistry geek. Well, that is my way of helping to change the planet. I have always been playing in an orchestra and like going to any kind of classic concerts. Though I am good at planning I do not like it. I'd rather let things happen, it makes life more interesting. I grew up in "Kavalierstrasse", which is German for Gentleman Street which is a good way of treating others/getting treated. I like eating as much as cooking, though I am slow at both. I can easily get stuck in front of the TV on friday nights, but if you give me a reason I'll drink all night with you. I will not talk to smartasses and people who close their minds for other's opinions. But if we get along well you will have to stop me from talking too much. As you may have noticed while reading this text, I like honesty. I don't care what you have done, I will judge you by what you do when we meet.

PHILOSOPHY

Being nice to others does not always get back to you. But it still feels good!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I only surfed once, but offered my couch in Berlin several times. Now, I am in Chile and hope to meet new people through the community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed a couch in New Zealand which has been awesome. In Berlin I already had surfers from the USA, Sweden, Israel, Switzerland, Italy, Czech, Argentina and Portugal. Which country comes next?

Interests

A good chat, your favourite dish, any kind of music performance(if it is good), playing in the orchestra, inventions, photography, fire, being in water, kayaking, the sun, beer, philosophing about the (not so) important things

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was in Namibia close to Swakopmund on a sanddune. When it got dark you could not see the surface of the steep side of the dune from the top. We started to jump into this darkness without knowing how far we would fall. But it is just sand, impossible to hurt yourself. After a while we were too exhausted to climp up straight again and were lying in the sand. We were looking into the starlit sky but had our feet up and our heads pointing downwards, so we would see the land on top and the sky beneath it. After a few minutes it felt as if we had to hold on to the sand to not fall into the ocean of blackness and stars beneath us. Great feeling. No drugs involved, just high on happiness.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I am into renewable energies. If you would like to know something about how to live more energetically sustainable, ask me. I can cook and could show how to make a few typical German dishes. This is also what I want to learn in other countries. Food!!
