ABOUT ME

In december 2006 I moved to Mali starting new challenges to my life.
I left my beautiful home in the centre of Amsterdam to change it for another beautiful one in Sévaré, in which place my adopted sun is also living with with his family. I'm surrounded by the Sanogos, a wonderful family, mother, father, seven sons and one girl. Most of the time there're other people living too. If you pass here you will love them right away.
I'm 66 years old and I'm a quit person. My main business are my garden projects for the women of so called "forgotten villages", where about 300 women work in gardening, helping to improve their standards of life a bit. From time to time I'm doing servicing to computers at schools.
Another main activity is that I'm showing movies twice a week on a big screen in the courtyard for about 300 people, mostly children. When arriving on fridays or saturdays it can be a little anoying if I have to get you at the busstation with my car, after 17.00 hours in the evening, it will be difficult to get you there. Anyway it's a good feeling to have the experience of a movienight.
Many people organise a guide for going to Dogon-Country as fast as possible. Many times they find one already in Bamako. You better don't get involved with these kind of people, they only want your money and they don't show you the good places. If you visit me, I have the best and the nicest guides in the world who show you whatever you want at a reasonable price, even English spoken.

I'm sorry but for the moment I have no couch available.
Anyway, you can have a try, it depends if I have time.
Sometimes I'm busy with the gardens or with other things.
So better ask what we can arrange.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Don't forget, Mali is a very poor country, in the same time it's not a cheap country. Sometimes visitors do not want to spent money or they will bargaining all the time. I want to advise you to be reasonable in these things, please understand that the Mali people need to get some money, maybe tomorrow they have nothing.
