ABOUT ME
Hey all :) I'm a native Texan, born and raised in Houston all my life. I have never seen a true winter and consider 50 degree weather to be super cold. I would love to travel more often and one day witness the four seasons.
I am currently a senior undergrad studying public health and am pursuing a Masters Degree in Public Health come August. Couldn't be more excited to continue my studies in public health :) I'm also minoring in sociology. Very interested in human interactions and why we act and believe the things we do.
In general, I find pleasures in the simple things. I rather spend money on experiences than tangible things. I love walking and being around green, natural spaces. I care a lot about the environment and am a huge advocate for preservation efforts. I have a huge soft spot for animals after I got my dog two years ago. Also, I can sing every lyric of every Taylor Swift song (and yes, I am extremely embarrassed).
If I had a million dollars, I would spend it all on food. I'd travel the world just to eat :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm very new to Couchsurfing. Would love to get involved with it more :D
Interests
I love school because I love learning! If I had it my way, I'd stay in school forever. On my off time, I enjoy reading academic books and journal articles about various topics, especially anything related to health. I'm particularly interested in the social sciences like psychology and sociology.
I like walking around a city, seeing the buildings, and checking out green spaces. I love nature and recently discovered the joys of hiking and biking.
Indoor wise, I love watching movies and TV shows. I'm very addicted to my Netflix account. Nothing makes me happier than to spend the night playing board/card games with friends & family. While I'm not the biggest fan of running, I actually really enjoy lifting at the gym.
I'm always interested in meeting new people, exploring new places, and trying new things :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I attended a health conference over the summer and was surrounded by so many health professionals in the field, including the Surgeon General. I heard so many influential speak about the health of communities and the work they were doing to reduce health disparities. It was at that conference, I realized I was among people who made a difference in people's lives. That day, I picked to embark on a public health career and have never looked back.
Every time I walk in the room and my dog comes wagging his tail at me. I love it. (Until he finds someone else who has food and leaves me. Unfortunately, his interest in me lasts about five minutes at a time)
When I visited Red Rock in Nevada and climbed the boulders - oh the view.
