Overview
About Me
Briefly: I'm born and raised/educated in Canada, living in old Lisbon, speaking Portuguese, working as an aspiring brewer (of beer), finally resigned to loving city living.
My travel philosophy: travel to a specific place for a specific purpose, like visiting friends, researching a project, learning something relevant to your life/work/activism/spirituality. Just being a tourist is not enough, and it cheapens the place you visit, turning it into an amusement park. Be conscientious of yourself in a place; I try to do the same.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because traveling is more fun when you're visiting someone. Because you can learn a lot more about the place staying with someone who lives there. Because I want to be part of a mutually-supporting community rather than capitalist consumerism.

What I Can Share with Hosts
Important: please give me between several days and 2 weeks REQUEST NOTICE if you'd like to stay with us. No less than a couple days, because then I don't have time to ask the roommates; no more than a couple weeks, because we won't know what we're doing or what family members might visit weeks in advance.
