CURRENT MISSION
Figure out how to balance a real world job and passion for travel.
ABOUT ME
Recently switched from the life of a Vagabond to the life of a corporate sellout. Well, not completely because I work a job where I get out of the office quite a bit and still have fun most of the time. The car/ camper/ hotel rooms/ tents I use to live in turned into a house. The camera I always had in hand for work and play turned into a cell phone and computer. Though the accessories have change, the adventures still continue in a slightly different way. I still meet with interesting people daily. Visit interesting and unique places often. And still have the itch to roam on a daily basis that I do not think will ever go away.
PHILOSOPHY
What one man can do, so can another.
Have no worries but don't get too comfortable. Comfort leads to a rut that is difficult to get out of.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have done a fair bit of surfing and hosting in the past. I recently moved to Michigan from Wisconsin. I am looking forward to using couch surfing to meet some awesome people! Right now I am unable to host but hope to be able to soon.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
There are really awesome people in and outside of the united states who participate in Couch Surfing. Met and surfed with balloon artists, teachers, financial advisors, CFO's and other great people. Every experience has been great! People on Couch Surfing are like minded, fun, energetic, and outgoing people who love sharing their world with any and everyone around. You can't find a community like this just anywhere.
One great CS story,
I moved out to Vail, Colorado and didn't know anyone or have a place to stay. The first night I was going to crash in my car at the good ole Wal-Mart. I picked up some Wi-Fi from the nearby Home Depot and sent out some requests for the next night. I got a call within 10 minutes and didn't have to sleep in my car that night or any night for a week. I met two australians who were also staying with Niki. There was another guy who was in the same situation I was but he surfed with someone else. We got together with him and the four of us decided to sign a lease for a five bedroom apartment. We needed a fifth so we put out an ad on craigslist and got 80 responses in seven hours but only one person said she was a couch surfer. She moved in and we had a great season!

Four Hour Work Week, A Place Called Jackson Hole, Cocktail Hour in Jackson Hole, On Foot Across Borneo, Audio books are great on road trips because they keep me awake!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
While camping alone 6 miles down a dirt road in Grand Teton National Park, a 400lb grizzly decided to wake me up by shaking my car. Talk a bout waking up quick.
Teach, Learn, Share
EVERYONE has an interesting story to tell so I am always looking for a good story! I have been told I have some good stories as well!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Usually, end up making dinner or bringing some beer or wine. Love to cook and have a drink after a long hard day of adventure!
