CURRENT MISSION

Studying a master in European Public Affairs at Maastricht University and enjoying my last year of university student.. :S

ABOUT ME

Well well... let´s see, my name is Javier and I'm from Spain. After spending two years in exchanges (Canada, Italy and France) and finishing my second degree in the UK, I moved to Maastricht to study a master.

Besides all that..well..hobbies?? In regards to sports, I play table tennis, indoor football and squash. Also I like dancing (salsa, bachata, tango..) I like pretty much every gender of music except heavy, metal and things like that. I love so much cinema (I watch around 100 movies per year :P). One of my passions are languages, and another hobby I really enjoy are traditional board games (Backgammon, Bagh Chal, Go, Tablut...) so if you are curious I could teach you how to play.
I dont know what else to tell, there are so many things.. but I could tell you if we meet :)

PHILOSOPHY

CS suggests me to answer to this question: Why do I live my life?? well let's say that one day my mom and my dad took a gardening lesson and I was the result, that's why I live I guess.
My personal philosophy?? Find my way and let others find theirs. Simple as that.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I became a CS member 7 years ago, when I moved to a flat with some friends in Salamanca. We hosted a lot of people during that year, and it was really fun and interesting. But since I left to Canada and they moved to another flat we deleted our page and I created my own profile to keep enjoying this experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was hosted in 3 different houses while I was looking for a place to live in Ottawa (they didn't kick me out.. basically it took me more than a week to find a house and I didn't want to abuse their hospitality by staying too long at each place) and then in another house in Italy for the same reason, and I can asure you that the experience is much more interesting than going to an hotel.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: My idol is Kieslowski. I know most people dont know him, but for me he's the best director of all times ( Three colors trilogy; A short film about loving...)
Then I'm a total fan of horror movies, not the sick ones with blood and violence but the psychological ones (Rosemary's Baby, The Omen, Insidious, The Conjuring..) However, I basically enjoy every kind of movie.

Music: I looove Fado (Amália Rodrigues, Dulce Pontes, Ana Moura...), Edith Piaf, Frank Sinatra, Michael Bublé, The Beatles, Ray Charles, Steve Wonder... (I know I'm too classic... :)
