ABOUT ME

I am a spanish guy that was born and grew up in San Sebastian, Spain. I studied Biochemistry in Bilbao but moved to Zaragoza to complete a PhD program in Molecular Biology. I worked many years on a Biotech company but I moved to Guangzhou, China (August 2017) for a postdoctoral position. Now I'm back in San Sebastian again.

PHILOSOPHY

I strongly believe that friendship is one of the most important things in life. I do not understand why some people forget their friendships when they start dating someone..

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When you are coming to my apartment I love sharing different experiences and stories with you. I don't want my apartment to become a hostel so I expect you getting involved and joining my friends and my life for a couple of days. I want to show you my city from the very inside, from a non conventional point of view. I can show you the main spots in the city and the best parties as well! :D
I'm quite busy during the week so hosting you at the weekend is preferably. I know that travelling abroad is expensive but don't send me a request if you can't afford a pint of beer!!
I'm not going to reply your request if I suspect that it's a copy/paste text!

Interests

I love martial arts: I'm a second dan kyokushin karate black belt and have been doing kyokushin karate for the last 14 years. Karate has tought me many lessons like showing respect to everyone and never giving up! :)

I like hanging out and talking with my friends specially if there are some beers around! ;) I played the guitar in a band (just with friends, non professional of course) and had lot of fun! I love hiking, diving and travelling. I am aware of the enviromental damage due to human activities and I recycle materials as much as I can.

Recently, I have been asking phylosophical questions to myself about humanity and our role in the universe. Consequently, I've become curious about how the Universe works and have been reading many stuff related to planets, stars and the Universe itself. I feel really excited with the current space programs.

I'm currently learning chinese and I find languages superinteresting and exciting!! :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Top movies: the last samurai, Avatar, Scarface, Interstellar, grave of the flyfires, etc.

Top bands: Asian kung fu generation, While she sleeps, A day to remember, Rise against, Nirvana, Linking park, Berri txarrak, Band Maid, etc. Apart from those "rock bands" I enjoy listen to classical music, OST, and some latino music as well.

Books: the martian, aurora, etc.

Top TV shows: Narcos, Friends, Game of Throne, The expanse, Dexter, Supernatural, Rome,etc.
Top anime: Dragon Ball, Naruto, Death note, Psycho pass, Kenshin, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visiting Kyoto during an Asian trip in 2016. You can feel the spirituality in each of its shrines and temples.

Visiting Japan in 2015 and attending the Kyokushin World Championship was a dream culmination. After more than ten years talking about the trip, visiting Tokyo was awesome! Since then I have falling in love with Japan and japanese culture! :P

My experience of being in the Amazone, Colombia was also great...I stayed only for three days but it is a place where for sure want to visit again!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am always willing to LEARN from surfers and foreigners!!

I consider that sharing experiences is extremely valuable.

I could teach you some karate techniques as I am a black belt in kyokushin karate... :D

Or If you prefer I can teach you how molecular and rapid test work. I think that you are not going to find them very exciting though!!! ;)
