ABOUT ME

Former seaman, now a welder, I'm still looking for a place and an activity to settle down a bit more. Until that, I'm often on the move...
You'll find me most of the time in the south of France, where my work , my friends and exciting opportunities lead me.

One-year trip to New Zealand coming in 2021 normally, making it through the covid situation the best I can until then...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really love the idea of opening my door to new people, specially if they're from another country, and i sure hope to be able to do the same thing when I'm away from home!

I'm not really an outgoing person, so CS helps me in making new encounters :)

Interests

I really love to do things with my hands, preferably from scratch if possible ! Above all with wood and metal, but also with every interesting material that can be reused or that I can gather myself.
I do a little bit of carving/engravings.

I love sports, climbing, hiking, freediving and bodysurfing mostly, but all kind of physical activities suit me, specially if there is water involved !

I love cooking, and recently I'm trying to gain experience with outdoor fire cooking, like whole lamb roasting or nice big winter soups.

Music, Movies, and Books

All kinds of music, but i'm still picky... Brassens, Queen, Deep purple, Infected mushroom, Chinese Man, Kenji Kawaï... the list could go on for loooooong.

I love reading although I don't have quite the same book/month ratio than my high-school years. Among my favorite authors, but far from exhaustive, Jules Vernes, Alain Damasio, Robin Hobb, Daniel Pennac, JRR Tolkien, Fred Vargas...
I also (used) to read a lot of bande dessinée and some mangas!

As for the movies, it would be quite long and complicated to try to explain, but I enjoy it a lot.

I've had the incredible luck of swimming freely with humpback whales.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot about knifes of all sort, and will be glad to sharpen yours or better, to teach you how to do it.
I can also teach you cool knots!
I'd love to learn new cooking recipes.

I'd really like to improve my drawing and carving skills, and I'm specially interested in the Maori style jade and bone art.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd be happy to cook for or with you, go to the boulder gym or to a bar.
Preferably all of the above...

Let's go to the beach or in the mountains, have a big nice barbecue or build something together!
