About Me

CURRENT MISSION
Becoming fluent in Spanish. Improving my climbing technique and strengthening. Reintegrating into Dublin after 2 years travelling.

There is no why, there just is.

I treat people as well as I can. It makes me feel good about the world.

Everyone is different and I like that.

I grew up living between a small city called Waterford, a tiny island called Inis Oírr, some of the most remote parts of western europe and even a bit of Berlin for a year before the wall fell. Dublin has been my home for 10 years. In that time i also managed to spend a year in Thailand and a year in Australia. A bit mainstream, i know... but i can explain! :)
I play music, love learning new things, love spatial problem solving. I'm a total foody. I fell into being vegan for a few months but it's not for me.
I'm glad i tried veganism though, as I'm glad about pretty much everything I've ever tried.
I love rock climbing. I love football (and understand how it bores the tits off a lot of people).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My housemates and friends before i left Ireland hosted regularly so I decided to join the party. I like surfers with an interest in the people they are staying with and sharing some time together.
I'm lucky enough to always have friends or friends of friends wherever i have needed a couch. But one of these days i hope to find hosts and meet new people in new places from CS too.

Interests

I can appreciate most things. I have an opinion on most things too and like to hear other views and ways of looking at the world in general. Some of my favourite things are lemons, elephants, yogurt and bees.
I'm extremely into my fancy coffees. I have a grinder, an espresso machine and an aeropress. I'm always trying new beans.
I'm trying to draw more and play my incredible custom made guitar more.

Music, Movies, and Books

Aphex Twin. Múm. Mozart. Foals. Napoleon Dynamite. The Big Lebowski. Genius. Sympathy for Mr Vengeance. Happiness. Down By Law. Hunter S. Thompson. Flann O'Brien. Ryszard Kapucinski.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I represented myself in court and beat a team of fancy lawyers. It's quite a story.
I had the same dream as a friend, at the same time, when we in different countries. Quantum freakiness!!
I worked with scores of people with intellectual disabilities for a year and learned more about myself and life than i thought possible.
I've done more than one amazing thing. That's what life's all about. Fuck the mundane. Do things well and be interesting.

Teach, Learn, Share

Anything guitar related. Music has always been crucial for me.

I was an English teacher for a year. And PE.

I was a communication consultant and training fascilitator for courses like Presentation Skills and Media Skills. But i chose not to sell my soul.

Fitness and physio knowledge. Especially ligament healing. I'm fairly knowledgeable about diet too.

Guitar & tin whistle teacher.

I can show you how difficult Irish is.
I can read and write thai but i can barely speak it. Haha. I can order amazing food and get home just fine tho.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Depending on free time, i can share meals, go into the city for a meal/concert/play/climb/swim.
Possibly drive around the mountains surrounding Dublin.
I always tell people, friends and csurfers to explore by themselves as well as take my advise. Each and every person has always discovered something i never knew about. Dublin is awesome.

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, Germany, Ireland, Thailand
