Interests

Music, Books, enjoying the small things in live. I am quite busy with my studies when I am honest but I think I manage to get the right amount of social time for me to be happy.

I strongly believe that the people you spend your time with and who give you new impulses in thinking, influence your life to the greatest extent and right now my social surroundings and the interesting things I learn and experience everyday are the aspects that really make my life engaging.

Music, Movies, and Books

Many types of music:
Hard&Heavy, Crossover, Blues, Jazz, Psychodelic Polka, Progressive Metal,Nu Metal, Alternative, Stoner Rock, Old School Hip Hop,some Rap, Reggae, Electro, Minimal, some Drum & Bass, some Dubstep, Classical music, it all depends on the mood ^^

movies:
I very much like movies in general. That means I very much appreciate art house movies and can at the same time enjoy a nice action movies when there are not too many dumb and chauvinistic comments ;)

Books:
I recently am interested in russian literature. I read Bulgakov, Gasdanov and I was planning to try and read Dostoyevstky but still am a little afraid. At the moment I am reading the Emperor of all Maladies which is obviously connected to my research activities in the field of cancer. But I also appreciate a good fantasy book or historic novels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

important impressions:

The attitude of German students in Aachen towards life and their critical way of thinking.

The sunset behind the old railway bridge in Riga (Latvia).

The architecture and feeling of being European I had the pleasure to experience in Brussels (Belgium).

The amazing nature and atmosphere at Sleeping Bear Dunes during a weekend outdoor trip with Kayak paddling and hiking.

A trip to Venice and a visit to the Biennale (the part in the Arsenal)! It was a mazing to see so much contemporary art that could actually relate to and enjoy (usually I have my problems with very abstract art)! I will try to go back and see the second half of this awesome art exhibition!
