About Me

After shifting lines of work for a few years it seems like I've settled moreless in the freelance life - mostly music journalism, writing about the Middle East, translating, proofreading and other editorial duties.

Even though my main time-consuming activities are music and travelling, I'm obsessed with all sorts of knowledge, and the older I get, the more I'm captivated by people.

Originally from Barcelona, currently stationed in Ankara.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Have been using CS for years; it's a habit which is hard to get rid of.

Travelling to places and meeting folk from there, hosting and sharing experiences/stories about any sort of thing, it's just an enormously interesting way of knowing more about the world and hearing others' perspectives and tales. And I'm quite the sponge, so...

Music, Movies, and Books

Random list of music I enjoy: The Replacements, Poison Idea, The Who, The Fall, Einstürzende Neubauten, Sun Ra, Bruce Cockburn, Napalm Death, Wire, Cows, Ruins, Ween, Michael Chapman, John Fahey, Horace Tapscott, Gong, Richard Thompson, Erkin Koray, Black Sabbath, Fela Kuti, King Crimson, Voivod, Hawkwind, the Damned, Polvo, Charles Mingus, Fugazi, Unwound.

Haven't been reading many books lately due to work, but always been a big fan of Eastern European literature, North-American postmodernism, Japanese novels, history books, etc.

Will watch any movie as long as it's not offensive, from droney black and white artfests to mindless action flicks.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got to meet and chat with one of my musical heroes, Mike Watt from the Minutemen.

Teach, Learn, Share

Conversations are the best thing ever. I'm always willing to share impressions and opinions on whatever the subject, and rant about geeky stuff if prompted.
