About Me

Call me XP

CURRENT MISSION To restore my gran house and to try to turn that place in decay down a jungle covered hill close by the ocean in a boutique ho(s)tel! I became a journalist, worked for TV and newspaper and now assist people facing Justice as an interpreter. You could formally read on this very description "To me travelling is the best way to learn about others and about yourself blablabla... Of course it is always better with cold drinks and a night of fun!" Let's just say that I would add that now as a 30+guy I know when I want a quiet time and to properly rest enjoying some coccooning home.

PHILOSOPHY Lets just say that I am a pretty contemplative person maybe it is why I believe I am some old soul calmly waiting to take a new step on the reincarnation scale (best option to me would be to end up for eternity as a rock under a waterfall, some sunshine during the golden hour and that cute little green moss).
Careful- most thoses photos are almost ten year old and im too lazy to upload new ones, so obviously I got older, and now that I am everyday closer on becoming the old fart I'll turn into before becoming that beautiful rock I've just mentionned, I want to underline the fact that since Covid happened a lot of things have evolved and I did my rules.

The way people do travel nowadays and some use CS makes me now having to be extra careful regarding the people I host since French Guyana is the most expensive territory in SouthAm ("hello €uros ^^'" is your password to indicate at the top of your message when you start asking me to host you).

My place is still opened to emergency requests, as I myself have been in that situation and that I understand it, but nothing like a shelter. Meaning that if I happen to realize that you do not have anything to provide for yourself at all in terms of food or drinks or transportation or trip preparation or even just sympathy to share -yep that happens...- our story will probably end the next morning unless you are really good at telling jokes (but again it means you are sympathetic and I don't ask for much more).

Also, even though I do have a big house it is to my disfortune a very messy place invaded by decades of family memories, it doesn't mean that you can feel entitled to spend the whole day crashing your bedroom moreover if I'm going out, nor that you can explore, dig in stuff or move furniture. Also it is not because there's already some -or even tons of- mess that you can believe that it is ok to add some more.
Last but not least, you get a double bed, you get AC, but there are times that damn mosquitoes happen anyway, sorry about that. Also the only working bathroom is through the guest bedroom at the moment. No cigs inside. Pure 420 friendly ^^

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Here I’ve met lifelong friends. I ve been lucky enough to be one of those early timers. I'm proud to display my pionner badge at the bottom of this page! I like to see that as much as CS grows and improves, its original spirit never changed and I think never will (ok so that was written in 2015 and I do believe now the site has a lot to improve and will be happy happy discuss it with you). This community is pretty different from what is left of other social medias on the Internet. The bonds you tie in here are often deeper. Hospitality is not only to me the best way to share your culture with people : it is also about joining a family that is open-minded to strangers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So many, why should I pick? most of the funny bullshits stories I have to tell are really long and some people wont even believe it!n therefore...lets just say that one of my last trip from the northern hemisphere to frozen Patagonia was a backpack road trip I did without any credit or debit card. After this experience, I believe carry on cash only is a way way better way to travel.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A double bed, a hot shower, a great outdoor shower, some downtown tours, chilling watching series, sunset times by the water or on top of some hills, Indian Ocean and Caribbean cuisine.
