About Me

I'm generally an introverted guy who turns into a complete extrovert in the presence of amazing people. I try to avoid talking about stuff that doesn't matter. I enjoy meaningful interaction - meeting new interesting people or discovering something appealing to my sense of self-development.

I try to utilize the experiences I've had living and traveling around the world, getting into all sorts of interesting situations, to be as down-to-earth and rational as I can. I find that the most difficult moments life puts us in can often be the most valuable if you learn as much as you can from them. Moderation is the key, though, and overdoing anything (including thinking and learning) can only yield negative results.

I also like to think of myself as a kind person. I hate the thought of imposing myself or my ideas on others or doing anything that might upset them. Unconditional tolerance is what I'm always striving for. Ultimate independence and freedom, too :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosted many wonderful people who lost their way and stumbled upon Serbia. Surfed in many wonderful places that happened to stumble upon me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Mostly top-notch guys and gals from completely different realities to mine, and whom I've made truly deep connections with. Kinda like a social concentrate. I find that I relate to CS-ers because we seem to share this common trait of openmindedness, which I consider to be a prerequisite for any kind of meaningful interaction. I heave learnt from each and every one of the experiences I shared with them.

Interests

I'm constantly trying to improve my understanding of people and the way things work in the universe. Thus, psychology and astrophysics are my two great passions in life. Other than that, I always enjoy learning new things that are interesting to me, whether I deem them valuable or shelf them somewhere in my vast library of useless knowledge :)

I'm a pretty decent cook, although I haven't been cooking much since living in Asia for the last 6 years. Huge fan of all kinds of soulfully-prepared food tho :)

Music used to be a big part of my life. I used to be the frontman of 'the best amateur band in Serbia' at the time, but after 15 years of playing the guitar I've moved on to other passions.

Now, my biggest purposeful activity is photography (nature/landscapes/structures/humans/animals) and I hope to get into visual storytelling (documentary making) some day when there is time for it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Mr Nobody, Another Earth, Dark City, 28 Days Later, Requiem For A Dream, Magnolia, The Man From Earth, The Cabin in the Woods, Matrix, LotR, Star Wars, and plenty more - I'm a big flick junkie!

Music - chilled out psybient/psydub beats, a dash of fusion jazz and a pinch of world music. Indie folk and mellow rock also make me feel.

Books: Shantaram, Conversations with God, The Ra Contact, The Teachings of Don Juan, The Wind Up Bird Chronicles, 1Q84, Oryx and Crake, Catcher in the Rye, 1984, and many, many others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ayahuasca in the Amazon with the most powerful shaman I've met.

Traveling with my dad's ashes to India and Nepal to scatter them in holy places.

Big backpacking loops around the USA and Southeast Asia.

Learned fluent Spanish in 3 months.

Living a nomadic, remote working life in Asia for 6+ years.

Shot a documentary about a Northeast Indian tribal culture and belief system.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not the best at anything but I'm good at many things. Whatever knowledge I possess is free for the taking!
