关于我
After one long year of gainful employment and living in one place, planning and saving and living like normal people (as opposed to dirtbag nomads) my amazing girlfriend Roxy and I are finally hitting the road again! And this time the destination is latin america!! Since our first taste of latin america (four unforgettable months bike touring through beautiful Mexico in 2012) we've been craving more and now we're making it happen!!!
The plan is to fly into El Calafate in southern Patagonia and cycle north til the money runs out - hopefully somewhere around Colombia, soaking up all the sights, sounds, tastes and experiences the South American continent has to offer.
我为什么加入 Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because of the opportunity you get to really get an insight into the way locals live, think and feel. I've had some amazing, insightful experiences with couchsurfing/warmshowers hosts and am keen to collect some more. After a few weeks of living rough, being cold, wet and tired, camping in the bushes, bathing in glacial streams and eating 2 minute noodles it's really special to be invited into someone's warm, dry home and treated like a friend or a member of the family. Plus, the trip's over when the money runs out, so the less we spend on accomodation the further we go!!

音乐、电影和书籍
I love books and music. My tastes are pretty varied but music-wise my favorite stuff is mostly punk/metal/hardcore, reggae, psychobilly and old time rock'n'roll.
When it comes to books i'll read almost anything (sometimes pickings are slim at the book exchanges!), but probably enjoy reading biographies, classics and travel literature the most at the moment. Best books I've read lately are On the Road, Breathe, Crazy for the Storm, And the Mountains Echoed and Krakatoa.
我做过的一件不可思议的事情
The most amazing thing I've done is spent seven months cycle touring through Canada/USA/Mexico with my girlfriend, Roxana Balazs. We followed the Great Divide Trail along the Rockies from Banff in Canada to Antelope Wells in Arizona, where the trail ends. From there we kept rolling over the border and down the west coast of Mexico. We pedalled 7500km in seven months and had an absolutely amazing time: we camped under the stars every night, drank from streams, ate millions of beans and thousands of tortillas, enjoyed the forests, mountains and beaches, learned to surf, learned to ride a bicycle (in Roxy's case!), encountered wildlife of all sorts (including a grumpy mamma grizzly!) and revelled in each other's company, as well as the company of all the amazingly friendly and helpful locals who helped us out along the way or just stopped to ask what us loco gringos were up to.
