About Me
CURRENT MISSION
get to know different cultures, meet new people, explore our planet we call earth :)
ABOUT ME
Wow, pretty hard to describe oneself, eh?
I was born and raised in Germany, in the Black Forest. But my parents are actually from Bangladesh. And since I longed for the world since I was little, I decided to move to Canada by myself to become independent, mature and make my own living. I like to think that it was quite an accomplishment :)
As you can see I posses a lot of cultural influences, I speak 5 languages, 3 fluently, and my biggest passions are politics, history and philosophy. I am thinking of studying PPE after my world tour, but for now I work at Starbucks as a Barista, at Granville 11th. I was actually offered the title of shift supervisor but I turned it down, since I only have a limited time of residence in Canada.
My favorite music right now would be Coldplay, Jack Johnson and Justin Timberlake.
One of my other passions is cooking! I love cooking, there is something about it, it's....soothing :D
I like to think that I'm open-minded and easy to hang out with. I'm very socialable, a virtue I got my job with I believe.
PHILOSOPHY
Augustinus Aurelius once said: "The World is like a book: If you don't travel, you'll only see one page"
Why I live my life?? Because I am an organism that pursues survival and replication....hahaha, just kidding!
We are only given a short period of time, about 30000 days to be more specific. So I try to cease every single day, because after that, there comes nothing, no life anymore.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Well, since my landlord is not ok with me offering a couch or a matress to sleep for the couch surfing community, I at least offer to show couch surfers around. Vancouver is a beautiful city and there so many things to explore!
And since I work at Starbucks, I'm always happy to get a cup of coffe, since I get 30% off of anything :P
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I must admit that I am very new at the Couch Surfing Community. But I definetly find the idea interesting to offer accomadation to people who want to discover and explore my city without any agenda of making profit!
Nowadays I often feel that all people care about is about materialistic things. Where is the hospitality that you can only find in few cultures nowadays, especially in Asia and the Middle East? For instance, in Bangladesh I have never experienced that a person wasn't allowed to sleep over because of any kind of reason. Being hospitable there is part of their mentality and their Muslim culture. In western cultures it is just not normal to let a stranger sleep on ones couch,eh? That is why I decided to join the Couch Surfing community, to break that barrier :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
As for me the hardest part and yet the most amazing part of my life until now was to leave my life in Germany behind. My friends, my family, especially my mom....Yet at the same time to totally stand on one's own feet... That is one of the best feelings I ever had :)
Most amazing thing I've seen would be my boat trip in Rajapapa in Thailand, where they actually caught a fish with a little harpoon, which we later ate, delicious!
Teach, Learn, Share
After an espresso shot is drawn, if you don't use it within the next 10 seconds, it'll taste bitter instead of smoky-sweet caramel...that's all that I can share right now :D
