About Me

CURRENT MISSION
* my husband Jordan https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/jordan.smith.946179 and me are finally reunited and live in Ohio now. hosting joy is officially resumed! we are heading an intentional living community with two other lovely humans (plus 7 rescue mammals). And we are expecting our first child in January 2024*

I'm striving for a balance in learning from the amazing people around me about mental health, yoga, climbing and the art of living in general.

ABOUT ME

I'm about learning and growing. I'm a community builder who loves to empower people. I'm easy going but take things that are important to me seriously.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm interested how we can make our own life easier and more fulfilling and how to help others see ways they are setting themselves up to have it harder than it needs to be.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfing couches on five continents while backpacking plus hosting at home in Germany, Sydney, Ohio and Scotland. many people who've left impressions, shaped my ideas about whats possible in life and some have remained friends and we have revisited.

Music, Movies, and Books

if you find something here you like, great - if you're into totally different stuff, just as great. The possibility to exchange between people who are not already loving the same kind of things is one of the riches CS offers for me.

in general: alternativ/indie (Bloc Party, The naked and famous, CHVCHES, The National, The XX, Peter Gabriel, Ben Howard...)
+ classic, especially Ludvico Einaudi, Olafur Arnalds and Nils Frahm

a lot of German music shaped my teenage years: kettcar, mikroboy, Wir sind Helden, Bosse, Gisbert zu Knyphausen...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

take your pick: living in the township Khayelitsha, taking a Macoro into the Okawango delta, diving into a ship wreck off Bali, dancing on an Tadzhik wedding, seeing the blue fire on Java, spot Northern lights in the city of Dundee, tropic storms colliding in horizontal lightning out at sea in Australia, diving with turtles and sharks in Sipadan, Malaysia, being between hundreds of dolphins out on the ocean in New Zealand

Teach, Learn, Share

*having people bringing you random ingredients and you create something tasty out of it
*laughing about a audio book or enjoying the music you listen to in public transport so much to make a lot of people wonder
*be warned if you get me started on self care/ understanding our mental wellbeing as a maintenance task similar to hygiene

What I Can Share with Hosts

*food, cooking and stories
*ideas on where to go to and stories where we've been
*some of my writing
* apparently my pancakes are a thing
