About Me
Due to the "new" (2020) paywall policy, I no longer have access to my profile and thus can't help/host people anymore. It is true I sometimes got to host cool people that made my life richer but for the most part I took it as a pure act of altruism that was worth the extra costs/discomfort for me and my flatmates. However, I find the idea of having to regularly pay actual money for this altruism outrageous and therefore our spare room will have to find a different usage. It is with a heavy heart but I am hopeful the paywall will get abolished one day :)
things for hosting marked with 3 exclamation points. Don't write a request if you didn't read that and found thing(s) in common.

So..ugh...yeah. I reckon now's the time to show myself in the best light by talking about all the strong suits I possess, how funny and open minded I am etc so... here we go!
Or not.
I just find it weird.
So I asked few friends for suggestions, maybe it will make me feel less awkward. Here's what I got:
"a nice guy, always keen to explore other cultures and learn new things"
"has an awesome sense of humour (even though some people might not get everything :) "
"I feel relaxed in your company"
"a friendly, thoughtful, and insightful person :)"
"extremely talented when it comes to music"
"unnecessarily shy and modest"
"a smart, funny, creative and easy going person. "
"He’s one of the most genuine people I’ve met and always a real pleasure to talk to"
No, It did not make me feel less awkward. Oh well.
You know what? Instead, let's talk about my "negative" characteristics, which my friends daintily omitted. That should be much easier haha (yeah, I do like myself a lot, don't I :D )
Alarming time management and laziness. Got the nickname "Mañana" for a reason.
I don't like to be the responsible, in the centre of attention person. Failure and embarrassment are my biggest enemies.
Smalltalk and flirting confuse me.
I'm slightly introverted (not negative but potentially problematic from the CS's point of view). Doesn't mean I don't like talking, on the contrary. It's just that a long day among people demands a lot of focus and energy which I need to refuel by completely turning off here and there. Extroverts tend not to realize that and misunderstand it. One of my favourite ways to recharge is to grab a guitar (or piano).
Horrible cook and dancer.
I rarely talk when there is too many people around me. I prefer an even conversation where it's easier to find out what the other is interested in and adjust the talk accordingly.
I have a terrible memory. Although I'm quite reliable when it comes to important things, only because I write them down. Don't remember what/if I had for lunch yesterday.
I purposefully wear rather shabby and/or pink clothes as my personal revolt against the prejudices based on clothing (although I think it's positive, people around me not so much).
!!!! Start your request with a word Niffler so that I know you have read this (bonus points if you know what it is haha).
list of nicknames I acquired:
The Mañana (cuz if you can postpone something for tomorrow, postpone it)
The Hamster (cuz I take ages with eating and when under time pressure, I just stick the rest in my mouth and keep chewing for another hour haha)
The Autistic (yes, some are very flattering. Got it for playing chess though haha)
The Juke(box) (cuz I can play most of the pop songs upon request on several instruments. One of the few things I can actually be kinda proud of)
The Sponge (cuz I rather listen than talk - I absorb information)
Mr Swimsuit (I don't (try not to) give a shit about what I wear. And I wear shorts in the winter)
The Ecoterrorist (cuz...I don't know? I just try to be ecological and (re)cycle, avoid meat and unnecessary plastic waste etc but I'm not pushy. Oh well...)
__________
This profile was written mainly for hosting (that's why I'm not trying to sell myself that much haha) but after getting bombarded with so many people not bothering to read a single word of my profile and then being rude after getting refused I'm temporarily changing my status to "not hosting". However, if you somehow stumble upon my profile and think we might be a good match, don't hesitate to shoot me a request :)
___________
!!! some info about me hosting:
Out flat is 5-10 mins from the city centre (close to "Náměstí Míru"). Two of our roommates moved out recently, so my brother and I decided to offer the vacant space for CS. Unfortunately, we're too busy to host too often (or both) to always be able to show you around and hang out so you've got to be flexible, but we'll be happy to provide "some" (we actually wrote a quite extensive guide to Prague :D) tips :)
Another consequence of us being short on time is that the flat might not be particularly tidy - it's just too big for 2 people to maintain :D so if you tend to be fussy about cleanliness, kindly look somewhere else please.
Btw even if I'm busy, I still want to get to know you. Perhaps we could cook some traditional dish from your cuisine together - in my experience, people tend to bond over food quite fast :D and I'd love to learn something new :)
Sleeping arrangements: We usually offer our tiny room (it's just a bed basically :D) to 1 person for 1 night (theoretically more if we have more time to hang out). We could (also theoretically) fit in another person depending on how much time do we have to clean the rest of the flat :D
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I used to be kinda scared of strangers and the unknown. It took me 21 years to realize that it's something I should fight. So I pick up my stuff and moved to Sweden. It was crazy and challenging but I consider it to be one of the best decisions in my life as it taught me so much! I switched my mindset, learned how to embrace and become okay with failures. Instead doing easy things I'm already good at the safe way I do the opposite. And I love it! :)
While abroad I prefer to explore rather the hidden gems and experience the local way of living rather than the stereotypical touristic stuff (because that's just another "safe" choice millions of people did before me). I can enjoy everything though :)
Interests
music (guitar, piano, singing, recorder, drums, ukulele, bass, looper, kazoo, accordion)
sports (floorball, football, skying, table-football, ping-pong, bowling, basically everything...:))
outdoor (kayaking, canoeing, rock-climbing etc...)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Stepping out of my comfort zone in general. That's my life now.
Studying in Sweden/England, playing in a musical, being a leader on a summer camp (crazy for an introvert), teaching music, spending Christmas with a family I barely knew, being a frontman of a band, stealing my mum's engagement ring for my first "love" when I was 5, playing LARP, doing improv, singing an opera on a main square of a foreign city, gatecrashing a birthday party in a strange city I knew nobody in and...just living my life :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach: Basics of various music instruments I play, circus shit (juggling, pois etc), Rubik's cube, Stomp, Magic the Gathering, basic origamis, math and principles of economics etc.
And show you around Prague as a host ofc.
Wanna learn: Everything useful, particularly dancing (I'm really terrible :D), cooking (trying to be vegetarian but I'm not fully there yet as I gotta be on a low residue (fiber etc) diet because of my Crohn too), impro, musical instruments (get better in those I already play and/or learn new ones), jazz composition patterns, various life hacks, random fun-facts, psychology
What I Can Share with Hosts
Czech culture and language, Erasmus and travel experience, hidden treasures of Prague, playing/teaching music and just...fun? :)
