ABOUT ME

I love fleeting human connections and the absurdity of everyday life. I try to learn from my experiences, immerse myself in beauty, and add something to people's lives.

Centres d'intérêt

I am interested in social justice, identity politics, language and behavioural economics to name a few things. I think food is one of life's greatest pleasures and I love cooking and feeding people. I love dancing, especially when people are not at all self-conscious of their bodies and just immersed in the moment. I enjoy thinking and talking about life - what constitutes a good life, what constitutes a good society and what we can do to make things better.

This section initially read 'love and semantics' before I decided to bulk up my profile - I thought I'd leave it up as it sounds quite mysterious. :)

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

When I'm alone I mostly listen to music for the lyrics - songs by Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell contain a lot of truth.

Favourite films include Before Sunset, Amour, Manhattan and The Act of Killing. The most meaningful book I've ever read is The Unbearable Lightness of Being; other favourites include Midnight's Children and A Fine Balance.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I camped in the Syrian desert in a thunderstorm, slept on the floor of a monastery with bats flying around, and sang revolutionary songs over breakfast with a group of guerrilla fighters.
