Hello, I’m Vicky from China. And for Chinese friends, you can call me my real name Xing Cun or 香椿, which might be a little hard for non Chinese to pronounce.

About me:

I’m so into animals, especially dogs, and nature always. Curious about the things and fields that I don’t know and willing to communicate and do language exchange with people growing in different culture. But sometimes need time to recover from very busy social activities.

Love traveling, hiking and cycling. Most time I leave home alone but will make friends no the way. I I also like taking trains, especially slow train with windows open. Since university, I have done solo traveling for about 10 years. I have tried different traveling ways, like volunteering at the bookstore in Lhasa, running marathon in Dalian, teaching Chinese in Thailand, hitchhiking and couchsurfing.
The more I travel, the more I get to know myself and also the world.

As time passes by, I find myself loving staying in a new place as long as I can instead of hurrying on or rushing.
And I don’t make very detailed traveling schedule, changes are always happening, and I’m learning to get used to it.

Nobody can be young forever, but there are always young people. We cannot stop our body becoming old. Traveling might be a method to keep ourselves as young and open as possible.

Walk much, read much and then you can know more about yourself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Many of us are on different channels, but this is a platform to know more similar and different friends.

It provides chances to know the local connects more with the real instead of just visiting famous tourist attractions.

Many times, after returning from a place, the thing that impressed us most might not be the scenery but the people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

June, 2023, I hiked in Kailash, Tibet, which is said to be the center of the world according to many religions, like Buddhism. Everyone who wants to go there must take 20 hours by bus first.

October, 2022, I went to Chiangmai for vipassanna course, which was meaning and memorable.
