About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Find the inner peace from this chaotic life.
ABOUT ME
Graduated 3 years ago from National University of Singapore, tried different roles in a big corporate. I have been questioning myself what i would do if I were not afraid. A few month ago, I told myself if not now then when, if not me then who - I took a leap of faith to have a break from work, and gonna start my master degree from Aug 2016 in Scotland, University of Strathclyde.
I find joy in social engagement, enjoy having thought-provoking conversation with people. I always look forward to meeting people who bring in different perspective from their life experience. Free thinker - having all respects for all religions and the unknown. Aim to live life to the fullest with a grateful heart.
Brave and conservative at the same time. Not extreme in all aspects.
PHILOSOPHY
Be kind.
Live life to the fullest.
Be aware, respectful and grateful.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I joined the community 6 years ago while I was still in undergraduate study. How time flies....I find this platform a great idea to travellers who have genuine interest in people, culture and community. A bit risk taking, but it always comes in as a reward, based on all my past experience.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
All my Couchsurfing experience are unique and it somehow shapes my personality to be more accepting and inclusive. I still remember I met Wilson, who is originally from Hong Kong, in Oslo where he studied his master degree. There was a long walk in the countryside and we tried looking for the aurora lights. I remember the time I visited a Swedish host, who was specialised in China study, and we had long conversation on culture exchange. Not but not list, I brought my mom together for couch surfing. She totally appreciate the idea and enjoyed herself when we stayed at Xiaomei's place in Paris - we had so much fun while drinking and cooking Chinese food together.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Maybe a recent one. It was another year of Dragonboat festival in the Chinese lunar calendar. Zingzi is the special main dish that we eat during that period. For those of you who do not know what that is: stick rice with date or meat are wrapped by reed leave(s) into cone shape, and boiled for 1 hour before serve. (Or a picture by google helps you to understand better =))
My mum used to cook them and give to relatives to share the joy and mark the tradition. Ever since I left home for Singapore, I got no chance to help mum with it, and honestly I am not good at it at all. People always say the young let go the tradition in the modern world, which makes me feel sad. A piece of tradition makes me remember who I am and where I come from. Hence, this year, I made them from scratch. The satisfaction was beyond description. Tradition makes homesick sometimes though. :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I will be more than happy to share culture, life experience.
