21 year old Chinese-born Singaporean girl trying to see more of the world (and learning the art of having meaningful conversations with strangers). I'm still learning to be a storyteller, be it in the form of theatre productions on stage or behind the camera in film.
Currently spending a semester on exchange in USA at UT Austin and loving it so far, would love to meet some fellow travelers and figure out this city together!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm a broke student hahahaha okay no aside from that, I would like to experience a new place as the locals do, from beyond the tourist perspective. I would love to explore the city as a local (together with a local? haha), wherever I am!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Mandarin pop music and Korean pop, though I do have a soft spot for Maroon 5 haha. I grew up reading Harry Potter, Animorphs and then John Green and all these books have shaped the person I am today. Movies-wise, Inception holds a legendary spot in my heart. The Austin film culture has also influenced me in the past couple of months and the current film that I can't get off my mind is Hacksaw Ridge.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have... acted on stage as a character thrice my age before an audience of around a thousand people despite not being the most comfortable with public speaking/acting in general? (I've always been a technical theatre kind of girl hahaha)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would gladly ramble on about Singapore and all the amazing food and our unique way of expressing ourselves called Singlish that uses English as a root but is flavoured by so many other dialects, it's so expressive and really fun to speak :) I will also be more than happy to listen to whatever story that you have to tell!
