About Me

Please,
- At the moment, I am against travelling in a way that spreads virus. Travelling has to slow down, even for the sake of planet earth... However we love it... Make your place a nice place and stay there!

- My place is for travellers who have their own sleeping bag. I provide a mattress with its sheet only. I do not have enough washing facilities to offer more.

- I have Asperger's with sensitive senses looking like chemical sensitivity and my place is FREE of chemicals, as the smell lingers on my tongue. I adapt when I travel.... But not at my place that smells only nature! I CANNOT RECEIVE YOU if your clothes or sleeping bag have been washed with SOFTENERS (and most washing products have smells...).
What "smells clean" gives me nausea... The smell even sticks after you are gone and can need up to 5 washes to be removed. I CANNOT DO THIS. Only smell-less soap can be used in my bathroom, or just water. Usually, who I call a traveller does not have room for perfumes and other creams, so this is ok. You can smell sweat, no problem, but perfumes no.
MY LAST GUEST DID NOT RESPECT THIS, PLEASE READ and do not ask to come if your stuff smells any perfume.
UNRESPECTFUL PERSONS make nice ones have consequences. This guy even asked me to sleep on my massage table that is aside my own bed...
Yet, he is asking in comments why I was nice to him? See one point further down about "meeting people"! Also... because I behave according to who I am and not that much according to the other person. I know most people behave according to "what people deserve"... I don't because it leads to mistakes.

WARNING for now: if you say you are ok for my conditions but I find out you are not, I will not mind anymore to send you out at any hour, and will not accept you just for being the "nice person who keep her promise", at least for those who do not keep their promise.

(I really advise you perfume free soaps and the use of baking soda to remove smells, for you and your clothes. Do you know all this goes through your skin? )

- I can only offer opened cave with mattress, for surfers / trekkers who have their own sleeping bag.

- you can also plant a tent.

- I do not offer food and do not need gifts, as I do not eat any processed food nor sugars.

- I live where neighbours KNOW each others and do not like crowds. If you come, or if I come to you in a more anonymous city, I like to MEET people! I like knowledge exchange and also the subtle feeling of sharing what makes us humans, to still feel in harmony in a world that is not always harmonious... I have been living in La Palma for 7 years.

I am a quiet person who loves contact with nature. I also love soft contact with people, not the fiesta high pitch talking or bars! Also I am sensitive to smoke or perfumes, chemicals in general... (you can smell sweat, but not deodorant and make-up!) I am sociable and kind, but I am also sensitive and slow, and I like respect of the rythm of the slowest. WHAT APPLIES TO TREKKING APPLIES TO HUMAN RELATIONSHIPS. Thanks!

As I feel fine with animals, and as I heard many times people saying that more they know humans, more they like their dog, I decided that if dogs were masters worth listening to ... then let's do like dogs! So..... The more I know humans, the more I like them, as dogs do!
....but I do NOT accept dogs, the last one killed my rooster, though the person said she was sure she controlled her dog.

I am also as direct and little diplomat as a dog. If you LOVE IT FROM ANIMALS, THEN PLEASE LOVE IT FROM ME! When I do not feel heard when saying something, then I bark, and if not enough then I bite! I say this because some surfers unfortunately pass the limits they are told, or do not ask, and then are surprised when I am not polite enough to shut up. Especially because of course THEY DID NOT DO IT ON PURPOSE. Of course you did not, but then...

I suggest to behave as if you were visiting a far away tribe you do not know the different habits! That is what I am. You can make mistakes, but please listen and do not be offended at being told, just do better to adapt, and do not be ashame to ask. I really live in nature and have obligated rules for myself! So you will be also obliged to save and spare things, I am the one to carry them to here... I do not have to shut up so that you never know you made a mistake (ans thus feel good and me upset). As a friend told me "yes but people have too much ego..." Well, I prefer humility and people who can feel they are children and beginners at a new place.

- You are here supposed to be careful not to use too much shower, toilet paper, washing up product though still washing clean, I just mean some people use up to 10 times the necessary. You are also supposed to not put your own fork or spoon into common dishes when sharing food. There are too many people with hepatitis to behave "as with familly".

- My stone soil can seem not so clean, but it is earth from outside, and some people conclude they do not have to care with the food falling... and even if we are in nature, you are not supposed to let food down on the terrasse. It cannot be washed outside but would attract ants and mice.

About my garden, please mind your feet and look at them and put them on the narrow paths, not on the plants nor garden beds. Ask me before eating fruits, and do not spit the seeds or peels on what you do not even know are my salads....

Resumé: I have noticed that people have very little clue about the discretion real nature asks for. Actually, this is the main point I can teach, and this you will never find in any book. I am not perfect myself for this, but at least I am conscious / aware and better myself every day! And when I fail, I try to notice, and when I am advised, I try to accept and learn.

CS since 2010! I am not as new here as it looks! It just happened that I logged in with facebook and lost my old profile.
I am a person from nature, living in nature in a little autosustainable farm (though I have studied and could have chosen something more intellectual...). All that is "human" interests me.
2 some-years-ago hosts said about me: "Thanks for all the "nutritious" bits of information you´ve given me!" (I shared about nutrition)
Or: "Wish we had had more time to talk too... Maybe another time? You were my first official CS at home, and it was a great experience. " (We were both busy and both would have talked more....)

If you do some trekking, and want to spend a night in a cave, I live near the "camino real" and the Buracas caves, in the west-north-west.

I still travel to the península, sometimes go to Madrid or Barcelona, and so I give CS a go again! I am the kind of person who puts her silk sheet-bag on any sofa because the sleeping surface is not what is important. Hope you will host me or the reverse, according to who needs it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

IF I CONTACT YOU for surfing your couch, I have read your profile and look for people who can share something that I like.
Communicating is playing ping pong for fun, without trying to defeat the other! I will tell more if you answer, at least telling "may be..." No, I will not write a big message for a start, because many people do not answer, even when I enthousiastically note that we have something in common to share. So when I have an answer from you, yes I will be delighted to keep sending the ball back to you.

Actually, I live where I do partly thanks to CS, as I found an add for a place in a group!
Nice to keep the spirit of exchange... Also, I noticed more people want to surf than accept surfers (a lot of no response....), so I want both, and propose what I can... I have a home, in a cave, but I do not live prehistorically. In the Canary there are a lot of cave-houses.

I move quite little now.... I do not see many new people often, since I live on an island, so definitely, if I travel, I want to meet people.

Interests

Plants, nature.... I practise Somatic Experiencing for personal balance. This is a great way to understand the nervous system and take care of ourselves by knowing us. This is the greatest method I know to remove stress after a difficult event.
I am interested about all that is natural life, this is my "special interest", as a person with asperger's.

Music, Movies, and Books

Well, apart from books to learn about my interrests, I am more working with my hands on... But I do appreciate classical and baroc music 1st of all. Then good old nice rock 'n roll and music from the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Many, that seem to be more amaizing to others than to me. I have had a diverse life with many interests.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am into somatic experiencing and natural techniques for living a simple life. I even know which wild plants are edible.

I can recognize all herbs in the garden, even when they just sprout. I have a personal relationship with what is alive, and I love to know plants animals and humans.

What I Can Share with Hosts

What I am into, what I have learned or practise can be interesting for people who work with people, in education etc. Also if you like tranquility, nature, plants etc.

I know quite a bit about nutrition, and very strange, I do not profess a diet but a way to find ones diet! It is not so easy to find what suit us best... Please respect I am not vegetarian, and feel free to ask me not to eat meat at your place, I will respect it.
