About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To get the world fatter than me one baked good at a time.

ABOUT ME

I'm adventurous and broke, which makes me a damn, fine resourceful person.

Food is a love and there's nothing better than getting people to try the things I'm eating. But there's also the perverse side to me of trying to find old, horrible-sounding recipes, recreating them, and getting people to eat them. Tang Pie = Awesome. Breakfast Cookie made with bacon, cheddar, orange juice and cereal = not so awesome.

PHILOSOPHY

If you can't fix it, embrace it!

Winning is great, but losing can have its perks. Probably because it's not about the end result, but how the journey went.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live to show people places and things that really make that particular town...well that particular.

Where else but Hamtramck can an enthusiastic immigrant display his love for his new-found country than making a crazy, metal-works representation of the Happiest Place on Earth (aka Disneyland)?

Where else but Louisville can the living dead walk the streets once a year? Hooray Zombie Walk!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

One invasion!

Interests

Reading: more of an addiction than an interest. Some of my friends are wondering if I need some sort of intervention or if there's a crisis hotline for the likes of me.

Music Genres: I generally like hardcore, punk, and ska. I basically like music that sounds desperate to be heard, raw and full of that roller coaster called life.

Movies: Independent films, short films, animation, quotable films (seriously, why is everyone so obsessed with The Big Lebowski? I don't get it...)

Art: fun, quirky, cute. I mostly like my friends' works. Not hanging on my walls because I have too much damn art: Erin Hookana, Daveer Garrett, Damon Thompson, Luke Cheuh, Brandon Jessie, Aeire, Lost One, Nurse, and things I picked up at yard sales.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: anything by Terry Pratchett (British Fantasy) and Aaron Cometbus (American punk). The Mercy series by Patricia Briggs. The Barefoot Serpent by C. Scott Morse. Way too many comic books to even know where to begin.

Bands: Avail (best band ever), Lucero (what happens when southern punks play country), Hot Water Music, Less Than Jake, Dillinger Four, Flogging Molly, Parka Kings, Toy-Box (because every scenester, albeit former, has a super dark musical secret, shh! this one's mine)

Movies: The Princess Bride ("My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father. Prepare to die"), Heathers ("I sold her out for a bunch of Swatch Dogs and Diet Coke heads"), Space Balls ("May the Schwartz be with you!").

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've crashed a party that had Ozzy Osbourne in attendance.

Was a speaker at Sundance Film Festival.

Directed a stereo-typical rap video, despite my feminist ways.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach people how to bake & do simple origami.

I want to learn from anyone willing to teach me (and sometimes not so willing to teach me).

I can share hugs.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Austria, United States
