About Me
ABOUT ME
Van-dweller, UK traveller, sometimes-teacher. Bit of an environmentalist (pre-XR and not quite aligned with their thinkings).
I spend a bit of time in Lampeter where friends and my partner live in a small land based community, growing veg.
I'm working on my van, turning into a proper live-in.
Love a song, sometimes enjoy playing the treble viol (viola da gamba) with other music people but that depends on my state of mind.
PHILOSOPHY
Anti-Capitalist attempting anarchist (as in non-hierarchical and trying not to control or be controlled).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I haven't for a long time now, but a few years back I did some travelling and some hosting. More recently when I've travelled I've stayed with friends / in communities.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
It's been great to get to know locals in places I've visited and to be treated as a friend not a customer. I've had some fun times hosting, too. I prefer it when hosts don't want to sleep with me though.
My other problem is being seemingly incapable of deleting old photos on here! Please judge by words not pictures :)
Interests
I like the above things, amongst others. Some are more active interests than others; I've not travelled much nor hiked nor climbed much in the past few years, but I always come back to those eventually. Theatre I love but generally can't afford.
Singing is a constant in my life. I sing to myself when driving, to others around a fire at night, with others in the right moment, and loudly and badly if someone starts playing Abba. I mostly sing folk songs.
I love dancing and don't dance enough. Dancing to live music (funk, jazz, bassy stuff) is the best.

Music, Movies, and Books
Films: Good or bad I can generally enjoy a film, unless it's really miserable. Planet of the Apes? Irredeemably miserable. This Is England; Harrowing but somehow uplifting, poignant and thought provoking.
I like short films too. Less of a time commitment.
Music: Good, live music. Especially if performed by friends :)
Authors I like: Jeanette Winterson, Ursula Le Guin, Phillip Pullman, Steinbeck, Robin Hobb, Vikram Seth.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Convinced my parents to start skipping (dumpster diving).: -D
Teach, Learn, Share
A song or two?
I can cook (fairly dependably). Though sometimes I'm best left alone in a kitchen.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As above. And red wine / whisky / chocolate (state preference!).
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, India
Countries I’ve Lived In
United Kingdom
