关于我
When I'm feeling not that great I go look at my references just to see how amazing people think I am. Lol. But seriously, we can say anything about ourselves, the true lies in between what we believe and what sparks with others.
Right now I'm trying to keep up with the multiverse of life (work, uni, gigs, healthy habits, etc), so it depends a lot on my time between uni, work and so on, to be able to host: I was myself a backpacker for a year; it is obvious that I really want to host (just to give back a little bit of all the kindness and hospitality I was lucky to find on my way). Not much time in advance is the best, weekends probably also fitting.
BUT WELL:
It's always tricky to try to describe oneself, mostly when we tend to keep changing. Some say we are the sum of experiences, context and own individual choices and inalienable identity; that tiny individuality that make us react differently, prefer this or that, choose and decide wether in stress or with some time to think about it; our unique will in Schopenhauer's words... Or, in a much more assertive way: the own path to go to find the little light that might give life –no necessarily logic or meaning, but at least– some joy and perhaps something to be willing to keep going in it... (let's blame Camus for that one)
So, I would prefer to avoid the self describing/flattering stuff –because of course I'm awesome, but maybe it's for an outsider perspective to decide how awesome. Maybe, I'm just awesome in another way than the way I think I am.
That been said, I'll stick to giving some background and maybe adding some interests that might give an idea on my general attitude towards life and for sure what to expect when meeting this funny/sexy/respectful/passionate/altruistic/adventurous/humble couchsurfer.
Some quick FAQ:
> Yes, that's totally my name. I have two first names: Luis Xocoyotzin. One is in "spanish" and the other one is in Nahuatl, [proper name of] the language Aztecs spoke before the colony. My grandfather (born in Mexico but to spanish decent) was so in love with the mexican culture that he went fully into it, trying to prevent its lose –he wrote a dictionary for nahuatl and a novel on the lifestyle and values of prehispanic people. He named his children with one "christian" and one prehispanic name; my father decided to do the same; with the main purpose of keeping the cultural vein alive, teaching us –my sister and I– that we come from a diverse and deep past, that belongs to the indigenous people and the hispanic heritage alike –the sum of two worlds with their own circumstances, deeds and marvelous things. (So no, my family are not azteks or at least not the last 4-5 generations).
> Yes, I'm taller than most mexicans (1.93m, I prefer football, however yes, I played basketball at highschool; but, hey, let alone the height, such a handsome boy! good DNA).
> If you read the profile you'll see that I'm more used to the south culture of México, so no much chapo Guzman-like music or cowboy sombrero. Even though I love to travel my country so, yes, some knowledge of those; and for sure my own stand on politcal issues (they say you should not talk about politics, religion and money at the first meeting, but roger that, those use to be my best first talks with someone from a whole different cultural context).
BIO/thinking stuff:
I was born in Tabasco, México (where Carlos Pellicer, my favorite poet, was also born and Olmec civilization had its roots), my family lives in Veracruz (it's known for its cazuela de mariscos and used to be Mexico's greatest international trade port and is even mentioned in Nabokov's Lolita —much other books in fact, but that one is particularly well known around the world) and I'm studying architecture in México City, in the UNAM Central Campus (Mexico's National Autonomous University in spanish, one of the best in latin America, but I'm not trying to be cocky... Maybe yes, but not for this one).
Like any other person who has had the time to think about himself and the universe (the likes as your cousin, Leibniz, Sartre, the butcher from the market, Kierkegaard, Heisse, the kebap guy, etc), I'm aware that we're just an insignificant part of existence (even when if it is as we perceive, representation [and will] in Schopenhauer's words). Given that, there's only two options: die (even on a living body) or live to the fullest.
Being that said, it's logical to think in a way that can make us take the best of life as we do not have another one (at least we can't prove) so, it is totally up to us to enjoy the time we got while on earth (which we should take care of if we want to still be able to exist).
But well... That's part of my way of thinking, keeping it short: sometimes I just go with the vibe and what I think is more appealing for having the best time; that implies that I get into weird adventures or shitty decisions (I took a gap year to travel all around, starting in Europe, went a bit into África, back around East Europe and then back to latin America)... I might say I have kind of crazy toughts... I believe in being happy, or at least in simple joys of staying alive.
SO, I could keep going, (yes I'm quite talkative and let myself go) but we should spare something to talk about when meeting and stay in an interesting yet unknown talk.

Traveling is, undoubtly, the best way to learn about places, cultures, human beings, the nature and yourself... and coachsurfing is a powerfull tool to do so:
There's no better way to get really in touch with a place or a culture than through the comoany of someone inmerse in it.
While you can be hosted (that could be enough for some to start off), you can meet new people and all the best living in amazing places, and (taking a bit advantage?) they could posibly take you around, knowing the corners that might pass unseen in a regular turist trip.
And the very best: what do you have to give in exchange? Talk about your culture and host incredible people from all around the world that want to learn fron your hometown, country and culture!!
兴趣
Yeah; another one in CS that loves to travel! Also I'm pretty much into Arts, Philosophy, Literature, getting in dangerous/silly situations and daring sports/activities; besides that, and ever changing interest towards things in life.
And of course getting to know the best beer and alcohol of each place (Tequila always wins) etc, etc...
音乐、电影和书籍
For some reason I was born in the Mexico's musician day... Yes, I love music but I've got so much respect for it that I would never ruin it by playing myself... Besides that, I enjoy almost any kind of music, from Slipknot to Marrón 5; from dirty reaggeaton to italian opera –depends on the mood. Some baladas and pop might do, but I'm not an expert in latin music. The only thing I do not like is banda (a kind of Mexico's northen sound)... But in special conditions I might even dance some dirty reggeaton/salsa/bachata (a joke, unless you give me a fair amount of tequila shots).
About books, my favorite one is el principito (by antoine de saint-exupery), I love Borges, Juan Rulfo, Pacheco and Pellicer... But let's have something toy all about!
我做过的一件不可思议的事情
Let's talk about it.
教,学,和分享
If you are learning spanish, spanish lessons are for granted... If you don't know México that well, for sure I'll talk about it nonstop. And finally any other thing that you're keen to know and happens to be that I know, I'll be the first one to make it able for you.
Might that be writing in spanish, drawing, watercolor usage, etc.
About my learning, I'd love to learn German, and obviously as much as I can of diferent cultures and persons.
