We are a Maltese married couple who enjoy traveling and would like to open up our doors to meet new people from all over the globe. We are currently on a one year trip around South America and we look forward to meet as many South American people as possible, to share our stories, learn about different cultures and make more friends worldwide.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We love the idea of being able to travel, see the world, and meet new people and cultures without having to sell one's soul to afford it. We love to meet real people and get a glimpse of their lifestyles, rather than just visiting tourist attractions. And that seems to be the honest idea behind CS...so here we are =)

Interests

We are very outdoorsy and adventurous, but also find some time to relax while watching a movie, reading a book (Chantelle) or enjoying a beer and taking care of the VWs (Shawn).

In summer we have an inflatable kayak, which is always on the go, and we like to go swimming and freediving, or having a BBQ with friends. In winter, we like hiking, camping and any other outdoor sport.

All year round, we do voluntary work with youths in Malta, something which takes up a lot of our time but which we love to do. Moreover, we always look forward to find time for travel, mostly budget and unplanned travel with just a rucksack.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Choosing one is difficult but meeting a wild Orangutan who was about to knockout Chantelle with a trunk, while jungle trekking in Sumatra for our honeymoon was pretty cool. As was doing voluntary work in India twice, and our current travels around South America on a shoestring.

2 beds, a small fan (no A/C), our company, and stories about our travels. We live on top of Xemxija Hill, 2 minutes walk from one of Malta's heritage trails, and quite close to most of Malta's beaches.
