Rewilding and rehabilitating 5 hectares of Portuguese bush, off-grid

ABOUT ME

I'm South African, Londoner for the past 15 yrs. I'm a photographer and graphic designer in my spare time. For a day job I am a Legal Project Manager - very boring.

I started a project in Portugal to rewild and rehabilitate the habitat so I'm often dirty busy planting trees, or digging swales and trenches! Living off-grid as often as I can escape from London.

PHILOSOPHY

Jump when you can - in ten minutes, the weather has changed, and then you've lost your chance. This counts in skydiving, and it counts in life.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host surfers whenever I can. I also make an effort to promote CS to outsiders, especially in the bikers community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted several people - surfed a few times - loved every minute of it. What a fabulous way of meeting new people, and sharing the world with like minded people. Long live couch surfing!

I am motorcycle mad - I'm arranging a trip from London to Cape Town on my motorbike and have 3 bikes in England, 2 in South Africa and one in Morocco!

I'm studying very hard at the moment though, so no time for interests.

Don't have much time for reading or movies. Grab whatever's available when I am free.

Like rock music - any REAL music with passion and energy. Spend a lot of time on the dance music scene, photographing djs, festivals etc.

Fell madly, deeply, utterly in love.

Done a 5,000km motorcycle trip through Southern Africa with a complete stranger, who obviously now is a friend.

Build a village house in Morocco and lived there for a year.

Wildlife photography in Namibia, Botswana. Whale photography off the coast of SA. Being chased by a bull elephant in the Namib desert.

Have seen many places from 14,000ft in the air, jumping out of aircraft.

Run with the bulls in Pamplona.

Rebuilt a motorcycle engine from scratch... and it took me 5,000km across Africa. Broke down a few times.

I can teach you a lot about motorcycles... :-)

Learning: I can't get enough knowledge about everything, people, cultures and recently ecology, biodiversity and rehabilitation.

Anything I didn't know yesterday and learnt today, is a magical blessing and privilege.
