About Me

Alarm, I am chatty. It's been confirmed by a lot of drivers who picked me up when I was hitchhiking. And also, you probably already have figured that out by yourself from what is below.
This is a whole new world for me.
Oct 18, 2015, this is the day when I have the guts to create an account of my own on this very website which I have been heard about for so long.
I am currently staying in my parents' house, so Mi Casa Es Su Casa couldn't be exaggerating the fact. But I would love to have meet-ups. And please help me with my German, whether you are a native speaker or a learner like me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

At the very begin, I knew this website as a brilliant way to pull off a trip with a limited budget.
But as moving around places, I realized there is no better way to travel than living with the locals. When in Rome, do as the Romans do.
What's more, a book, Fluent in 3 months, told me that here is a fantastic platform for language study.
And there is another important thing that book has planted in my head -- "There are no strangers here, only friends you haven't yet met."(W. B. Yeats)

Interests

Everything, literally. It seems that everything has so much that I don't know and is worthy of looking deeper. All my friends always say that I am thinking too much. I agree with them. Maybe it is because that I am Jon Snow -- I know nothing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Ok, I used to say, "not a rock fan", but Nothing but Thieves changed me. Besides, I love Florence + the Machine the whole time. The indie vibe is a hook. I'm basically tone deaf, so the lyrics get me the most. But still, I would bang my head on EDM, move my torso and limbs awkwardly along with Latino music, and "elevator music" helps me focus.
No thriller or horror! Can't watch those alone. And there is never a switch that I can use to turn off my imaginations while I slide into bed. Can I say "ich hab ein Kopfkino" here? Other than that, I'm a total sucker for Ron com. But to name one movie, at this moment, it must be Kingsman: the Secret Service.
Storybooks, no kidding, like Shantaram, you know.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Surviving till today. That's my biggest accomplishment, with lots of people's help. I am not trying to be a smart ass but grateful.
But honestly, I still can't believe that I have lived in New Zealand for 15 months. I remember one time I was driving back from the shooting location of the barrel scene in Hobbit. It was a beautiful sunset, and all the sudden I got emotional and had to pull over my car. I felt unbelievably lucky, not only because the visa is freaking hard to get, but also the opportunity to slow down the pace to feel the things I have seen along the road and interact with all sorts of people in a calmer mindset. Not like a hasty tourist (all the time).

Teach, Learn, Share

Teaching Chinese the language is my fantasy. I love languages. There are so many things that can be talked about. There is so much of Chinese Culture to learn through the way of learning this language. I am no master, but a companion walking along the path. Your different aspect is what I always need.
Right now, I am learning German, mainly. Languages are bridges. Build with great effort, and it connects the separated.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and heart.
When we are apart, you could know what the other place would look, sound, smell, taste and feel like from the place you staying. So, let's keep in touch?
Practical speaking, I would love to help with some housekeeping. Cleaning and organizing stuff somehow becomes some kind of meditation to me. Just show me your tools, way, and goal.
FYI, I am a "potential" good cook/baker, too. With your excellent technique and my cracky ideas, we might create some experimental cuisine. If things went wrong, I am here to clean up the war zone. Let's adventure.
