Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I believe in the couch surfing mantra. I believe all people should travel, it's necessary to fulfill that basic need for excitement and discovery of self. Couch surfing enables those with and without money to travel and meet new people. What's not to dig?
Oh, I always bring homemade food with me anywhere I go. Always.
I also love to cook for my guests and my hosts :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have yet to have anything but a stellar experience, both surfing and hosting. Iceland, in particular was exceptional.
I also love to attend couchsurfing events. Highlights of 2009 have been NYE in Chicago, Birthday parties and Brew Making days.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've seen too many amazing things to mark one as the best - right now, I'm recalling my experiences in Yellowstone and putting them high on my list. One white, cold October morning, as the sun was coming up over Lava Butte, I poked my head out of my tent to breath in the cold, damp air and witnessed the disbanded members of the Druid wolf pack hunting a cow Elk. Both predators and prey were exhausted and laid in the snow to rest. After quite sometime, it was becoming brighter and the cow stood up to commence running. The wolves did the same. I lost sight of them after a few minutes. While hiking to work a few hours later, I spotted the carcass of the elk next to a creek. A Sow grizzly and her cub were feeding on it, the wolves were perched on a hill, watching, waiting for the bears to get their fill so they could eat their catch. It reminded me far too much of the human hunting scenario. Someone will always get your kill before you do. All you can do is find a nice hill to sun yourself on and wait for your turn. Karma exists.
