About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To enjoy nature, and not destroy too much of it along the way!

ABOUT ME

I'm a pretty laid-back person and easy to get along with. Like everyone I've met through couch surfing, I'm open-minded and always try to be respectful and sensitive to others. I'm more of a book reader than a party animal.

PHILOSOPHY

The most important thing in life is getting on with other people. Sharing experiences and funny stories. Doing wacky things - I'm always up for a bit of nonsense.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

One of the best things I did was an official bird survey with a woman who works on a nature reserve, who I was staying with. That was great. Apart from the fact that we had to get up at 3am and climb up a 7000 foot mountain in the dark, and half freeze to death, it was great!

The people I've met through this have been very sweet, and amazingly trusting. It's a great community.

Interests

I record music and make music videos, and write short stories. I do a bit of hillwalking and bird watching (and butterflies too). I'm a philosopher at heart, really. I'm interested in science as well, especially astronomy.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Tortoise, Pavement, Crescent, Serena-Maneesh, My Bloody Valentine, Amon Tobin and others. I listen to a lot of minimal electronic music and old jazz instrumentals at the moment.

I like the writing of William Burroughs and Charles Bukowski, and comedies like Monty Python, Blackadder and The Naked Gun.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did learn to speak a bit of Mongolian - forgotten it all now, sadly....

Teach, Learn, Share

I can show you plenty of tricks on the guitar, if you've got one, or teach you some strange Glasgow slang.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Identifying local birds and butterflies, or ideas about Buddhism and self-improvement!

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, Monaco, Mongolia, Netherlands, Portugal, Russian Federation, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State, Zimbabwe

Countries I’ve Lived In
