I live in Tallinn, Estonia. I graduated from the teaching of Russian Language at Tartu University. I can communicate in English, Russian, Estonian, and Turkish. We love traveling with my wife and we know sometimes how difficult to find a normal place to stay and therefore we are here to host people when we are available.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

1st reason - When I go to a city for the first time, it means nothing to me to look at the buildings and take a single photo of them. I'm more interested in their stories. Because appearances are nothing without a story. And the best way to learn about them is to meet the local people.
2nd reason - Once upon a time, we had a dream of traveling around the world with my late brother, just with a backpack. We have a small tourism business in Turkey and we have hosted dozens of travelers there. Even though my brother can't be with me anymore, I want to realize our dream gradually. Therefore, I think it's time to take action now.

Interests

Im interested in Russian literature, chess, sailing, spearfishing, football, computer games, traveling and many more things. My favorite teams are Galatasaray, Liverpool and Rubin Kazan.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While I was only able to save a part of our own house in the great forest fire in western Turkey last summer, I saved 3 of our neighbors' houses as well. The entire village was evacuated because it was impossible to see or breathe through the smoke. When I went back into the fire to save our own house, I saw that half of our house was on fire. Since the electricity and water were cut off, the only solution was to get water from the sea. I extinguished the house by drawing water from the sea with a tractor and saved our neighbors' houses by putting out the fire on the roof. (I know it doesn't sound very realistic, but it is)
