2016 May - Visiting the US to walk the commencement ceremony of Illinois State University, IL, and also to visit Vancouver, Canada
>>>>>>>>>>
I finished my MA degree program in the US and came back to Japan in 2015.
My hometown, Oita, is located in the south part of Japan and is rich with food and nature - I learned swimming in hot springs and grew up eating fresh seafood. Mountains are covered with deep forests and clear water come out from numerous natural fountains.
Before going to the US in 2013, I spent 4 years in Tokyo, and also lived in Salamanca, Spain, for a year. I was a student, and also was a musician. I played the classical guitar behind the beautiful old cathedral in Salamanca.
I have relatively extensive experiences of traveling in Spain, Perú and México (besides Japan).
In Spain, visiting cities all over the country and seeing medieval constructions, I was deeply intrigued by the remnant of collision between two civilizations. I tried to learn la guitarra framenca.
In Peru, I did 5 days trekking around Machu Picchu. I was thinking about indigenous people and Spanish colonizers.
Mexico. The food was very spicy.
Now I live with my parents and grandparents at where I'm from. I study on Japanese Politics when I do not have things to do for them.
Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing
I do not feel like I am "traveling" if I do not talk to local people. Rather than being an alien visiter and remaining "the other" for them, I would like to live the life of the locality as they do!
Interessi
For travel destinations, I love the ocean and old constructions.
I wish I could lay myself on a beach all day long everyday. ...It seems unpractical. I still cannot handle loneliness. So, I go out to find people to share time.
I have interests in learning anything and love to experience new things. I know that I sometimes bother people because I am too curious about small things and want them to give me explanations.
It is not always the case that adequate ones are given. But still, I wish we can convey thoughts by words, unless there are other means.
Therefore, I really appreciate if a person whom I meet is good at explaining or convincing me by words.
To write about my side, I am good at conversations to build up mutual agreements. The key is patience.

Insegna, impara, condividi
I am happy to give recommendations on truistic places and anything about traveling around here.
Just as other CSs do, I can teach languages (Japanese, English and Spanish). I have a high school teaching license. Some say that I am distinguished from other Japanese teachers in the capability of explaining things in English.
If you are a person who never stop learning (in the educational sense of the current era), I can share my academic knowledge. Political science and education, in particular. Plus, from an internationally comparative perspective.
Such disciplines in social scientific arena involve interference/merge of neighboring disciplines, and dialogue in-between, such as philosophy, sociology, history, economy, anthropology, etc. Thus, talking about political science often forces us to rethink about our own behavior, which mostly often is depressing. Groundless optimism cannot concur this. Responsible romanticism can.
