About Me

Hi!! I'm Yamila, from Argentina, I have 31 years old and one day I decided I wanted to travel around the world. Yes, that was it, of course I was scared, but in my heart I knew that I really wanted to do it. So, I started in my first stop: Australia, where I'll stay a year and then I'll start to move.

I'm not a fan of regular tourism, I prefer to know local people, places, traditions, foods and son on directly from locals or people living there. That is the meaning of traveling for me, not just the place itself, but the people and traditions that made that place.

I am a filmmaker and a chef, but I have done a lot of different jobs in my life. Of course, I love cooking recipes from my country and learn about other places food, recipes, cooking traditions, everything. For me, taste local cuisine in every place I go is a MUST. I love to share a nice chat with a glass of wine, beer, coffee, tea or even our Argentinian traditional mate (I don't travel without it haha).

I enjoy a lot movies, music, books, cultural activities, museums. When I travel I always try to go to some museum, check out local bands, artists, places, so recommendations are really important for me!

I love pets, back at home I have dogs and cats an I miss them a lot, so it would be lovely to pet some cuties fury friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm in Couchsurfing because I don't want to see just places, my goal is meet people, culture, traditions, different points of view, stories, and everything that makes the soul of a place.
