About Me
I was born in Cuba 35 years ago. I had in 2007, a BA in Audiovisual Communication (Instituto Superior de Arte, in Havana) and I made postgraduated studies in Cinematography at the International School of Cinema, in Cuba. In 2012, I moved on to México City to live with my mexican boyfriend: Edgar (today my husband) I met him at the school of cinema. Today I'm working in a tv channel at Mexico city and living with Edgar and Lucho, my lovely dog, at an historic place of the city: La Plaza de las Tres Culturas in Tlatelolco placed some few steps of downtown. I love cinema, music, to dance, a good talk in a quiet and cozy place with coffee or wine, depending on the time of day.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love travel and know the world through the people of every place I visite, beyond the usual touristic. I have the philosophy that we can better known the places with the local people than with the tourist guides. And also I prefer to share than to spend.
Interests
I love travel and share experiences. Sincerely, i'm not fan of tourist tours. I prefer walking or biking inside the streets and let me flow, in my times, through the culture, traditions and people from other places.. To know about local gourmet gastronomie but also traditional meals and drinks. Principal attractions (museums, historic and cultural places) I love music but also to dance, and i do it very well (modestly speaking) So, I could teach some salsa basic steps if you want it.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have very wide musical tastes. I love traditional cuban music as the Vieja Trova Santiaguera, the danzón, the cuban country music; also the son music (montuno or not), the bolero, the cha cha chá and mambo. As well I love salsa and other Caribbean and Latin American rithms as the meregue, bachata, cumbia, vallenato, samba, bossa nova, mexican corridos and mariachi.
During a good drunkenness I can finish singing some songs of José José, Rocío Durcal, Chabela Vargas or Lila Downs...
As well I love Nueva Trova, specifically Pablo Milanés and Silvio Rodríguez (we share the same birthplace)
I love Latin Jazz and Salsa. I love the music of Bebo Valdés, Chucho Valdés and Irakere (Bacalao con Pan, it´s a jewel) Arturo Sandoval, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, etc, etc...
Rumba and Guaguancó are ususal in my life, they form an important part of my roots.
Also I love rock music, specifically Elvis Presley (It´s not a coincidence my name) Beattles and Janis Joplin. I love November Rain from Guns and Roses.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I worked
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach some of Spanish language ; cuban culture, history and slang. Also about Mexico (always through the perspective and knowledge of an "adoptive daugther") I´m a good dancer of caribean rithmes because of that I could tried teach some basic steps of salsa, merengue an reggaeton (I don't reject the last one, It´s part of my culture) I can speak a little about Cuban Revolution with It´s successes and also It´s multiples mistakes but at a point of the talk I will prefer change the subjet and I will be pleasure to be understood (sometimes it could be tedious to talk the same thing one and other time; and also It is a sensible topic to me) Cuban music it´s one of my prefers topics, so I can share some good exponents beyond Buena Vista Social Club and its Chan Chan. As well, I can be share some good tips about travelling in Cuba (belive me, it´s not easy: Cuba, beyond its changes at actual time, struggles inside a kind of bubble, apparted of the rest of the world; there, is different) Also i can made you some good mojitos (with peppermint, no mint) and some cuban or mexican recipes .
What I Can Share with Hosts
In addition to what I said in teach, learn and share section, I can carry with me some specific stuff to make them some food and cocktails recipes from Cuba and Mexico (I´m a good cook) It will be more or less complex depending if I can find a few basics ingredients in local markets but nothing we can´t talk about and agree on, before my trip. I can also bring some souvenirs from Mexico (it could be traditional crafts, books of cuban or mexican writers, Latin American Movies, multiple groceries, coffee, alcoholic (or not) drinks, etc., it will depend on the tastes of each host) As well I can teach some basic concepts of photography valuable when we make images for our public, job or personal archives.
