About Me

ABOUT ME

I am very animated, energetic, light-hearted, and playful, but I can also get pretty serious and philosophical. I like to have good, non-superficial conversations, and I love understanding people at a deep level. I love to laugh and especially make others laugh.

Career-wise, I am passionate about bringing empathy in this world through storytelling--through writing, film, and open mics/stand-up comedy.

I love writing. I write about social issues that I want to bring attention to, interesting documentaries, articles, or statistical reports I run into, (loose) psychology and philosophy, the complexities and struggles of (my) Asian American identity and how we can break through these barriers, and my thoughts on how I can create culture shifts.

PHILOSOPHY

Be introspective, curious, open, and genuine.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It's been pretty good so far, but I only had two experiences. One was pretty bad to the point where I couldn't even stay with the host, but the other was great. We ended up becoming roommates!

Interests

I like to write/blog, play the piano, compose and listen to music, play logic and brain games, run, hike, take long walks, practice yoga, kick-box, have thought-provoking and deep conversations, think abstractly, philosophically, and critically, listen to podcasts (TED talks, NPR TED hour, Radiolab), and watch stand-up comedy (Louis C.K. FTW) and documentaries.

I want to learn how to play the drums and I love the piano and cello!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hiked and climbed the Half Dome in Yosemite (17 miles just for the trail) with the wrong shoes and within 12 hours.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Korean, how to read music notes, math, how to make Korean food (and other foods, but my specialty is Korean food), and how to play the piano.

I like to share my random thoughts and epiphanies with others.

I love listening to stories and sharing stories--definitely can learn a lot of things from them. About people, about life, about the purpose of life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Openness, vulnerability, someone to really talk to, stories, philosophical ideas, get food together!
