About Me
*****
Ciao everyone!
I'm in France building a castle, so I won't be able to host in Torino at the moment.. If you're traveling through France, feel free to send me a request! The website of the castle is www.guedelon.fr.

ABOUT ME
Originally from beautiful New Zealand, I came to Europe when I was 18 to do my military service. When I finished, I went travelling, and haven't really stopped!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's a great way to meet new people, to truly experience new places and learn about new cultures.
Interests
Anything that gives a sense of freedom: so travelling obviously, good conversations, good arguments, hiking, learning languages, sharing music and food. Pretty much anything that's positive, I'm up for!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music from back home, like Fat Freddy's Drop and Six60. Love soul, dub, funk, reggae, music from Israel, North and West Africa and I must admit I have a soft spot for Italian trash - mostly because it's so terrible, it's good!
Films: Lebanon, The Band's Visit, Le Fils de l'Autre, Momento, Checkpoint and anything that makes me laugh (that includes terrible horror films).
The encyclopaedia.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sailing across the Atlantic on a tall ship - didn't see dry land for a month!
Hitchhiking a little less than 10,000km from Spain to the border of Azerbaijan and Iran.
Sleeping on top of a truck to escape wolves and wild boar in Northern Italy.
Getting arrested in Serbia after doing multiple shots of rakija for breakfast.
Teach, Learn, Share
TEACH
How to write in Hebrew and Arabic, a crash course in the various New Zealand accents.
LEARN
I have a tradition of learning completely useless phrases from the people I've met, like how to compare different types of eggs in Finnish, name vegetables in Turkish, and sing 'Bad boys' in Mandarin. So if you can help me in my quest to learn more completely useless phrases, I would be very grateful!
SHARE
Food, coffee and conversation :)
