Loving. Learning. Growing.
ABOUT ME
I'm Yanne, 26 years old, I'm originally from Manaus/Amazonas, in the north of Brazil. What I appreciate the most in life in getting to know new people and cultures and enjoying the little things. I'm not afraid of trying new things, going to new places and meeting "strangers". I've made many friends like that and I want to keep on living this kind of life.
PHILOSOPHY
"Sing it from the heart, sing it for the world"
"As above, so below. There is nothing new under the sun"
There are no coincidences. Everything happens for a reason.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I live with my almost 5-year-old daughter in an apartment with two bedroom, a kitchen, a living room and a bathroom with a bathtube :)
We have one very communicative, needy, lazy, old cat. The surroundings of our building are very green and practical at the same time.
A couchsurfer could sleep on the couch or lay a mattress on the living room.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Since I joind CS, I've surfed in four couches: two in Budapest, Hungary, one in São Paulo, Brazil and one in Minas Gerais, Brazil. In Budapest, a guy from Israel hosted me. It was the first time I met a person from Israel and I was impressed by how open-minded he was, it totally washed out the stereotypes of my head. We even cooked together and it was delicious! In Budapest I was also hosted by two other guys who lived together, one was from Hungary and the other from Guatemala. It was awesome, the Hungarian guy had some snakes as pets, haha.
In Brazil, a married couple hosted me and my mother. They were very kind, communicative and helpful, and trusted us to the point they lent us a key for the house! They let us stay there for a week and it was really handy for my mom and me
In Minas Gerais, two guys who lived together hosted me and my mom in their apartment for 6 days. We had gone to Minas Gerais for Avril Lavigne's concert and to do some tourism, and both of them were very friendly and helpful to us. They told us places to go, tips about which buses to take, where to eat. In one morning, one of them had prepared breakfast for us and, on one night, both invited us to join them in the living room to eat, drink and chat with their friends who were there. It was really fun and they made us feel very comfortable and welcome.
Great experiences I've had through surfing, and I'm looking foward to having much more and also finally receiving someone on my couch!

Music, Movies, and Books
All Johnny Depp's movies, zombie outbreak movies, drama, musicals, animes...
As an adolescent, I read all the Harry Potter and Twilight saga, some of Dan Browns' books, like The Lost Symbol, The Da Vinci Code and Inferno. Nowadays, a bit more mature, I have read far greater books during my studies in Germany. My favorite: Beloved, As I Lay Dying, The Great Gatsby, Their Eyes Were Watching God, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Girl in Translation, Sweet Tooth, Pride and Prejudice. I also enjoy reading (U.S.) American short stories very much, especially from William Faulkner and Edgar Allan Poe. I believe my favorite short story so far is "The Yellow Wallpaper", by Charlotte Perkins Gilman.
As for music, I LOVE Simple Plan, it's the band of my life. But I also enjoy other kinds of bands, singers and styles. I love to dance to the sound of Psytrance, I go to at least two Psytrance festivals and several parties every year. I also love to sing. My Chemical Romance, Bon Jovi, Avril Lavigne are amongst my favorite bands and singers. I just LOVE Japanese music as well... Oh boy, I'm just very ecletic.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I moved from the north to the south of Brazil. Different people, different culture, different accents, different food, differente drinks, different climate, different thoughts, values and behaviours... I thought it would be difficult to fit in during the first months, but I figured it out just fine. It was an amazing experience. Never thought I'd change and learn so much by living with people from the same country as I am, but from different regions. The same goes for my moving from Brazil to Germany and my experience with internships in Hungary and Japan.
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to learn about all cultures. I don't have any kind of cultural prejudice (at least not that I am councious of). I love to discuss about different topics and hear what other people have to say about them, their opinion may be different from mine and from every opinion, from every person, I learn more about the world we live in, I learn more about the meaning of being alive, of being a human being.
I think something I can teach is how happy you can be by being open to people, even people you just met. By experience, I've learned this is a very effective way to make friends for life.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Enthusiasm, an adventurous spirit, an open mind and some cooking skills. :)
