Présentation
À propos de moi
I'm a mostly calm, down-to-earth person who doesnt care a lot about formalities. I enjoy every laugh I can get and like people that can laugh about themselves :) I also love sports and try to be as tolerant and open-minded as possible and like to experience new things or people.
I like to listen to people's stories and to learn more every day. I love genuine people and people with a passion for something, whatever that might be. I'm interested in politics and ways to get more sustainability into our lives. That includes being mentally sustainable.
I love sports, mostly ballsports like Volleyball, Handball, Football, but also Windsurfing, Bouldering or whatever I get the chance to do (always curious to get to know new ones!). Unfortunately, I do sit quite a lot on my bum for my job, but I am always eager to get moving :)
Then of course, and which led me to Couchsurfing, I absolutely love travelling and getting to know other cultures and perspectives. I specifically love social or alternative ways of travel which involve couch surfing, hitchhiking, camping or bikepacking :) I also love boardgames, cooking and music and movies, however I don't consider myself to be particularly artistically gifted :D
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
This is a restart at Couchsurfing, hence the lack of references. I joined CS in 2011 and have made many of my best friends through Couchsurfing over the years and love the exchange that it encourages. I might have my doubts about the company behind it and their decisions, but the concept is beautiful.
I have received incredible hospitality on my travels and been invited to spontaneous trips or house parties. In exchange, I've hosted quite a few people to give back and as a means to get that travel feeling while i couldn't travel.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Pfew, this paragraph gets harder and harder to write which is nice as there are just so many things that will stay in my memory. The most amazing thing I've done till here probably was Spicyroad , a social hitch-hiking project that I helped build and which was aimed at spreading awareness to the issues of refugees and women empowerment around the world. During its duration, I hitchhiked with people from all around the world over 27.000km from Germany all the way to Vietnam and learned a whole lot about the world and about myself.
Another thing which really challenged my perspective was befriending Syrian refugees during the so-called 'refugee crisis' in Germany - The hospitality and warmth I've experienced there despite all the things that some of them had to or still have to endure was mind-blowing. Some of the people that I met then today are like my second family.
Other things that come to my mind right now:
- living in beautiful Vancouver for a year being surrounded by amazing people
- 6,5 months Working Holiday in New Zealand + seeing the All Blacks ruling the Rugby World Cup at home
- hitchhiking from Berlin to Istanbul to raise donations for a Syrian refugee community center
- 2006 Football (Soccer) World Cup in Germany with the world as a guest
- Edinburgh Fringe was awesome, really wanna see it again!
- getting kidnapped from the street into a nice Couchsurfing-stay
- camping on some of the biggest cliffs of Europe in Ireland, with the only company being heavy wind and sheep
- camping for a night at 3500 meters altitude in Himachal Pradesh in India
- hitchhiking for 26 hours with a truck driver in Russia
Those were probably the moments that stuck most to my memory, but there are so many little ones with beautiful people or stunning places :)
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
I can share my knownledge about mostly european sports, hitchhiking, physics or programming/AI. As that is maybe quite special, I also like to trade my language skills, although they're not perfect for sure. ;) Also i can teach you how to impress children with a diabolo. I can also cook a couple mean vegetarian dishes and always love to cook together.
But I think we learn already just by meeting/talking to new people and seeing beyond our borders, so let's just start to talk :)
Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes
Loads of stories and laughs, some good vegetarian dishes, great conversations
