Couchsurfing offers some kind of personal touch you don't get that often if you travel in the common, hostel based way.

Music, Movies, and Books

Pretty much everything that was spawned by D Reinhardt and Grapelli, Jazz and Swing in general, trad, out and some orchestral music, plus a lot more.
For books I can't easily say, I prefer reading textbooks at the moment along Herman Hesse, but generally everything that is not plain.
Similar problem with films, I like many, but hard to say which ones. Let's say I prefer artistic over entertaining, generally, but not always.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once I prepared a stew that was better than my mother's. Subjectively.
I think that was pretty impressive.
