About Me
Hello!
My name is Yannis and I teach Maths and Physics. I've recently started training in what has always been my passion, flying, and hope to start a career in aviation sometime in the near future. I've decided to travel around Europe and I haven't tried couch surfing before. I see it as such an interesting experience! You get to meet locals or people with so many different backgrounds, people who are willing to help you out and talk and share experiences, that's my motivation for being on here!
When it come to my personal passions, I love reading books (huge Harry Hole fan), flying, teaching and traveling are among the top. Oh, and eating 🤫
When it comes to hosting, I really like spending time with my guest, talking about the city but also showing them around. I think in general that's the whole point of the community of coutchsurfing.
I'm still a new traveler, very quiet and easy going as a guest, always up for a chat or a drink or laugh or whatever. Idk, the whole traveling thing for me is very exciting so far.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couch surfing is a great and interesting way to meet new people when you're traveling on a budget. You can hear new recommendations and learn more about locals. I'm new to this, and I can't wait to see and explore it more, and hopefully make new friends along the way

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies? Hmm, listen, I'm not the biggest movie fan, okay? But, I really like Pulp Fiction for being cool, and Into the Wild which had me mad at the guy for the whole movie until the last minute where he broke me and made me cry 😥
Books:
Obviously the Lord of the Rings (it's just epic) and the Hobbit. Also,
American Psycho, it described American culture really nicely, and I loved how the guy just got so..well, Psycho.
GoT books were amazing! Kept me many nights up (that's how I missed lectures some years ago)
The Right Stuff: Beautiful book about the era of the first astronauts.
War and Crime: No words, it's a classic
Le miserable: Also no words, just great.
2001: A space Odyssey. How had I not read that for so long?!?! Pure, classic science fiction.
Everything by Nikos Kazantzakis, he's the writer that helped me shape my personal philosophy in high school, teaching me through his books to always fight, and to always enjoy life.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveled solo, and loved it.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer good, relaxing company, long chats about all kinds of topics (history, politics and books are my favourite) and of course talks about my country and my culture. I know how to cook pasta with fresh tomato and garlic and I can also make a very nice greek salad. So...what else can someone possibly ask!?
