Overview
About Me
I'm brazillian, I live in São Paulo, South America's largest city with over 10 million people. I've also lived in Rio de Janeiro for some time.
I go to the University of São Paulo, where I study naval engineering. I like to joke a lot, visit new places and meet all kinds of people I can, getting to know different lifestyles, music, books, languages and whatever else possible.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've chosen to Couchsurf because it gives a better experience than a regular hotel as you actually spend time with a local and can really get to know the city, since you're not at the mercy of some tourism agency.
Besides that, it will make you meet a lot of new and different people, which is, in my opinion, the best part of travelling
Interests
I want to learn about other places' lifestyles and its differences to mine, so, I'd like to walk around town, try learn a bit of the language, visit restaurants, go to a soccer match, hit the beaches, go clubbing, do some trekking, virtually anything that's possible, after all, if I wanted to sit and watch TV, I could stay home.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite band is by far Pink Floyd, but my favorite music is The End by The Doors. I prefer rock genres, the bands I like the best are Pearl Jam, The Doors, Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath, but I'd love to get to know some of the local styles, for instance, Brazil's MPB, Bossa Nova and Samba have many songs I enjoy.
My favorite movie is The Untouchables by Brian de Palma, I just think it has the perfect amount of action and a thrilling back-up story, but I'm currently in love with some classicals I'm revisiting who were innovative in their photography.
My favorite book is Count of Monte-Cristo by Alexandre Dumas, as it is a masterpiece. The author is able to show how obstinated a man can become and how it changes everyone and everyththing, even though he refuses to accept it. I'm also a big fan of Notes from Underground (Записки из подполья) by Dostoyevsky, for its brilliant psychological set.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing I've done was travelling Brazil's northern regions with some foreigner friends I made in college. Brazil is huge and easily one of the most diverse countries in the world, so getting to know regions that spoke differently, dressed differently, ate differently, had really different habits and political views, but were still as brazillians as me was something truly special.
I'd left the cosmopolitan São Paulo to go through the savanna-like cerrado in Brasília, our capital, and arrive in Manaus, in the heart of the Amazon. Then, we went over 1600km in five days by boat in the Amazon River, going to the cities of São Luís and Fortaleza, which are in a desert-like environment. In the way, we went through the Lençóis Maranhenses (Google it, it's worth it!), a surreal landscape, the most beautiful place I've ever seen. And as someone who has lived in Rio and has been to both the Iguazu Falls and Machu Picchu, that's saying something.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach portuguese (hooray!) and latin american history and geography. I guess some shipbuilding science too, as a naval engineer haha
I'd love to learn everything you have to teach about your culture, especially your language and your literature.
I'd also like to share the city with you, going to all the places you think are worth it with you, but I understand that people have stuff to do and I won't be let down if you can't go out with me all the time.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I will enjoy talking about nearly everything, but I would surely enjoy talking about history (especially Brazil's), learning (or teaching) a bit of a new language, discussing movies and books and going to see some of the local cuisine.
I can play some songs on the guitar and I know some (really) basic magic tricks. Besides, I can make a decent enough caipirinha if you'd like to try it.
